HBO Officially Revealed House of the Dragon's Season 2 Release Date & Preview Trailer Explained!

Welcome back for another Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon Season 2 video. In this video, I will be talking about the new press event held by HBO, in New York City, earlier today. During this event, HBO executive, Casey Bloys, showed the press a screening of the trailer for House of the Dragon's second season. HBO also announced the official release date for House of the Dragon Season 2. It seems House of the Dragon will release its second season a little earlier than expected. They're currently aiming for a June or July release date. HBO also gave an update on the new Game of Thrones Prequel Series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. There's a lot of exciting things heading our way. HBO should release the first full trailer for House of the Dragon Season 2 this spring. I might be being a little too optimistic here, but I think a Jon Snow show done correctly could actually right some of the wrongs of Season 8, or at least provide more explanation and closure for certain character arcs.

Same. I won't say I'm completely UNinterested in a series about Jon Snow (depending on how they handle the writing), but there's at least 4 other stories/events set in the ASOIF universe that I'd love to see more, and if he ends up on the chopping block to make room for those, I'm all for it.

The world has so many stories to tell. And there should be little to no viewer fatigue if the stories are all of different eras. Needless to say, the scripts will have to be well written

Loving all the ASOIAF content. Does anyone else wish a show would expand on the children of the forest or the Gods eye and Howland Reed . Maybe some content on the longest night with ice spiders and bran the builder.

Probably because the ending of GoT isnt the ending that Martin has in mind for ASOIAF, so he wouldnt be interested in helping develop it.

The 'Snow' show was leaked on the internet by Variety magazine & subsequently confirmed by GRRM 17 months ago. He admitted he not only knew about it, but has thrown his full weight behind it. Kit Harrington's writing team flew to GRRM's home in 2021 and laid out their ideas. He loved it, gave his blessings, and incorporated members of his writing team to help it along. So what's the hold up? HBO released a statement 6 months ago that they're 'trying hard to work with the writers, but can't green light it just yet' Coicidentally, 1 week prior to their statement, Sean Bean went on record saying he'd like to be part of GoT once again if at all possible. Did HBO call timeout on 'Snow' and tell the writers to rewrite their storyline in order to accomodate Sean Bean? Or are they deep in negotiations with former cast members to reprise their roles? Or is HBO moving ahead with it but keeping it all hush hush? Who knows?

Snow will never happen. HOTD will slowly kill interest in the brand with its fans disappointment buy the time Dunc and Egg egg comes along theres gonna be 6 people still watching it will get canceled and that will be it till the GOT reboot after GRRM passes away without finishing the book and his family sells his legacy to Disney and they turn it into a musical drag show to kill it off for good

Thanks for the great update. I've been so hopeful for the Jon Snow series and if not for the strike (Which I supported) I think it would have been green lit already... but whenever something loses momentum it can change things... so now who knows what will happen.

I think they do owe us a series that takes place post GOT. They need to that to try to undo some of the damage they did in season 8. They need to do it to appease the majority of fans who were so dissapointed at the end of GOT. Doing a show about Snow is the perfect way to do that. Game of Thrones just does not feel like it had any kind of acceptable closure.

There is no fixing GoT. Those last 4 seasons massacred the story on various macro and micro scales. It's best to let it die and focus on stories in the past.

@@An_Dulachan My claim remains; the story is beyond mangled. Jon Snow is one of the prime examples. There is no fixing even his character with 1 measley season. It's over and dead so there is no purpose in trying to revitalize that show. Prequels are the way.

Since GOT and HOTD both film in the UK, I'd assume the Duncan & Egg series would do the same. There should be no delay with filming since the British acting union barred British Actors from striking. And now the American writers' union strike has been settled, work should start after casting. No dragons should mean very little SFX or CGI is required so maybe a 2024 release date is reasonable

Jenny of Oldstones is after HOTD, and Dunk and Egg, but before GOT. Jenny is the wife of Duncan Targaryen who was Egg’s first son. The same Egg from Dunk and Egg.

Can’t Waite for season 2 of House of dragon . Looking forward to the Damon and Prince battle on the dragons and Damon jumping off his dragon shoving his sword through the prince eye while they crash to the crowd it will be crazy battle scenes that for sure. Watching the king burn in battle will be crazy as well and then just when Real Queen Targyan goes to take the Iron Throne , King Aegon will be sitting there waiting on her and then we know what happens to Queen / Princess Rainy lol

I think most of the actors in HoTD are mostly British and so they don't fall under the US led strike. So could mean the show will be looking toward casting more British actors instead of Americans.

Book plot has stopped roughly at the same point as GOT Season 5. Last 3 seasons of GOT are only partly based on Martin's unfinished material, most of it is written by the showrunners and will not happen in the books
