Yes I’ve recently ended my long term relationship with my now baby daddy because of this. In the back of my mind I always knew he was using me but I wanted the companionship and I hoped my investment would eventually payoff since we were so young when we started. Unfortunately I realized he never had intentions of getting himself together. He’s an addict liar and thief. Who only cares about himself and his next high. But I got my baby girl out of it and she was worth the heartache. Now headed to my 30s and one day dating again i know to look for this type of man. My kind nature won’t be easily taken for granted again.

I dated a guy for 5 weeks last year who was just like this. His whole life was a sob story and none of it was his fault . Tried to guilt trip me into doing things for him (from giving him money, to marrying him, and watching my kids. I don't even let certain family members around my kids). Final straw came when he was about to get put out by his cousin and he asked to stay with me "for a few days". I actually talked to my daughters' father about the situation. I started talking to this dude who said he had his own place, had a job that he loved, etc. Within the first week, he started telling me how he was short on his rent and his mom wouldn't lend him the money. The fact that his own mom wouldn't help him out was a HUGE red flag. Then he said that he lost his job and still didn't have his rent and kept dropping hints because he knew that I make a lot more money than he does. Then he asked me to be his girlfriend and said "I'll love you as long as you love me"!!! I didn't even bring up "love" because at this point, we were only talking for about two weeks. I'm not stupid so I just cut him off. I stopped answering his calls and texts. I knew what he was about so I didn't even feel like he deserved an explanation.
