It's a tough situation for a teenager to lose hair and I can understand the emotional desire to opt for a transplant. But it's never a good idea when you are young as is evidenced by this example. If you suffer hairloss at a young age, you are very likely to lose more as you age and it becomes obvious if you try to fix it with a transplant. I'm glad that people like Matt, or Mr. Rolandas, or mesiasss4, are willing to inform, publicly, the pitfalls (and the pluses) of hair restoration surgery.

Yeah, it must be terrible to lose your hair at that age... I'm 26 and so far I am keeping it quite well but even in case something happened, well, it would be easier for me to wait some years to stabilize it, and above all, I have already lived my teen and university years with all my hair. Having to tell a 17yo boy (like my best friend...) to wait until he's 30/35 or more...damn

its not true that the side effects of fin will happen early on, you can start taking it for years without side effects, and then get them as you age due to your T levels naturally going down as you get into your 30s - 40s. Your reduced T level, combined with your reduced DHT levels can then cause side-effects to manifest. This is particular true if you had generally low levels of T to begin with, then when you start to get even lower T as is natural when entering your 30s and 40s, the lack of DHT, which replicates many of T's purpose, can cause side effects. Best thing to do is get your hormone levels tested via a blood test before you start taking fin to see what your hormone levels are like, and check in every few years to see how they change as you age.

@SpookyGhost9993 жыл бұрын
I did the same and started the fitness life when my libido and humor was at it lowest, but never stopped the treatment, because I felt inside me it wasn't the medication, I was feeling that way anyway because of my lifestyle. The solution? heavy weight training 3-4 times a week, ever week, every month, every year. No alcohol, no sodas, no sugar, no flour. Vitamin D+K in the morning, zinc, magnesium, boron before sleep and 4 non-fried eggs a day. Only water or green tea, lots of water, tap water with a filter installed, in a non-plastic bottle (because of BPA). Huge salads with everything I can find plus a portion of red meat, fish, chicken is my diet. Broccoli and spinach for lowering estrogen. Libido skyrocketed, its like a second puberty, still taking fin every day. I still have my hair, long as this dude in the video. Don't give up.

Get a blood panel done if possible. Curious what your testosterone levels are. Typically when you go on finasteride, testosterone levels slightly increase to compensate for lack of DHT as both are androgens are have similar impact on mood libido etc (though testosterone wreaks less havoc on your hair). However if you had low T prior to beginning finasteride, it is possible that DHT was contributing more to your mood and libido than testosterone as its mg-mg more androgenic than testosterone, and once you eliminated DHT your body was unable to ramp up T production (low testosterone means your body probably can’t produce as much testosterone as it’s supposed to). Once you get a blood panel done there are a number of things you can do. If you’re on the lower end of reference range but not too low I would recommend working on your sleep hygiene and diet as well as an exercise routine if you don’t have one already. 7-8 hours of sleep is optimal and always have a specified bed time to unfuck your circadian rhythm (poor sleep is #1 cause of fucked up test levels). If you’re hypogonadal I would recommend going to a TRT clinic and a doctor can make several recommendations: usually they will either put you on fertility drugs (Serms, HCG, etc) to see if they can recover your natural test production or prescribe you testosterone if you decide to go that route. TRT won’t rape your hair as long as you’re on finasteride as well. Obviously I’m not a doctor or anything but if the low libido is something that bothers you it can be an option to explore. Obviously it’s not guaranteed that your problems are caused by low T, as the degree to which DHT impacts their mood and sex drive depends almost entirely on your genetics. Some people with high T can still feel like shit without DHT, and some people can have improved sex drive without DHT as they respond better to testosterone. But it’s definitely something to consider; worst case scenario you rule out low T as the cause of your problems, best case you hop on a form of treatment and get your sex drive back.

I'm 32 years, and I started to notice some thinning hair in my temples. I will probably get a HT in a distant future. I think the trick is not getting too much panic! I know a lots of people who at the first sign of balding (mostly thinning hair) they went straight for a HT and overharvesting their scalp just for saving the hairline, without thinking on the fact that balding is a slow and progressing process, so you can do a HT for saving your hairline, but then you will probably have to go back for one on your vertex and then one on your crown. In my case, I prefer waiting to see how my hair loss is progressing, and then deciding to go for a HT. Slowing down the hair loss process is the only thing to do for now, and if is not with minoxidil and Rogaine... nutrients tablet, a good shampoo and a conditioner is also a good start. I don't use Minoxidil or Rogaine, first one gave me headaches and itchy scalp minutes later that I applied so I stopped.

Depends on the surgeon, if it was done properly then there should be very little signs of uneven skin. The hair transplant industry is full with heartless, money grabbing scam artists. It’s criminal what’s going on, messing with peoples emotions and lives. Before having a transplant, try medication for a year at least, so see if (a) you have side effects, and (b) it actually stops further progression for you. I would even wait longer, since the true answer to (b) may take 2-3 years or more to find out.

Go talk to a HT doctor I think is the best advice.. They may or may not tell you to wait another 5 years or so.. No, they will not if you talk to an ethical doctor.. But personally I would say get on finasteride as soon as possible! I hope this is OK with Mattdominance, but youtube "finasteride dosing" and look at the video from the two doctors.. The white hair guy is one of the original doctors that trialed minoxodil. They have a lot of experience. They basically say 1mg a day 3 times a week. I think 1mg per day is based on amount found in plasma/blood, but the important thing is finasteride in tissue..

Very interesting video, I am 23 and I have a widows peaks. I live in the states and have been thinking of getting a hair transplant since the age of 17. Yes I have taken finastride, and started taking it again. I prolly need about 2,000-2,500 hairs in total. But i'm really not sure what to do. When, where and price. Yes it's a genetical widows peak in my family genes, but I am honestly not sure. My cousin got a hair transplant a couple years ago in our home country in England. But idk what to do since I live in the states. Some days, I want to get the hair TP really bad and others days, I just go with flow.

3:10 We don't know what doses etc he took ,but I saw a video by two australian doctors that said 1mg 3 times a week is enough. And that small pauses isn't even that bad for the result. I got prescribed finasteride in 5mg tablets that I am supposed to cut into 4 and take 5 times a week. Still, that's 6.25mg per week.. If Dr. Knudsen is right, and I can get the same benefits with only taking 3 a week, I think that's a good start. However, Dr. Knudsen also said that it can build up over time, and side-effects can come later.

I agree. But if you go to a hair club, hair systems is really expensive. I think I paid like USD 6000 / 4900 EUR a year. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go back to it, as my priorities have changed a little bit. I wanna try finasteride / minoxodil / biotin / dermarolling and see what the result is, and based on that maybe go back to hair system.. But even then, the things I want in life is easier to achieve without that cost. And yes, I probably could get the cost down, but that means buying hair pieces one place, paying expensive $ to get it cut in etc..

Not sure if waiting the age of 50 to get a hair transplant is the best thing to do in life. The goal is not to die with a head full of hairs but to enjoy life with a hair transplant. I think NW3 is perfectly fine as long as you aware you may probably need at least another one down the road.

@@netninja8981 NW6 is almost the ultimate stage of baldness. It is gentics lottery. There are tons of guys who keep losing or start losing hair after 35. The most important thing is to keep a high hairline to protect the donor area. You can do a HT when you are NW3 or 4 if you don't lower the hairline and stay conservative.
