Have no problem with string change, used Hipshot since 2017, on a dubble neck, 4 unfretted and 5 fretted

Thanks, this video is very useful for my upcoming build! I didn't realize piezo headless tuners existed. Do you know if ABM or TFM still make the tuners with built-in piezo?

Sorry, I don't. But both companies happily respond to emails. If I could offer a piece of advice, however, only invest in such an expensive piezo bridge if you have a good amount of experience building guitars and can pull off a truly great guitar. I'm still holding onto mine... 😉

@@ShawnHeath I ended up buying the tuners from ABM. My reasoning is...they are still cheaper than a whole guitar! These tuners are going into a Version 2 of a guitar that I first built in 2019. If you know of the Gittler guitar, I make something similar to that...

How was the transaction part with mera guitars interested in using them cuz my headless build requires thick strings it’s a 30 scale bass vi type . Did you order when pandemic first started or more recently. Thanks!

Hey Nate, Dmitry is friendly and short and to the point. It took me six days of emailing with him to get my order placed, but it was my fault. He always responded within an hour. Give him your string gauges and ask what he can offer. He has a lot! 🤓 And good luck with your build, it sounds like a great idea!

Hi thanks for your video. I experience that the abm single bridge does not stay in tune after a day. Maybe there is something I should be doing and I am not. Any advice or experience? Thanks !

Good question, and unfortunately I can't say for sure without having your guitar in person. Personally I haven't had that issue with my ABM bridges. Check that your strings are properly stretched and properly seated in the ball-end hook. Make sure your locking screws on the nut are tight and that the string sheaths aren't getting stripped off. Strandberg sells cheap little washers that keep strings from slipping in the locking headpiece. They're out of stock at the moment but I'd like to see if they work in a hipshot lo-pro. Anyone know wherr else to buy something like that?

I'd say hipshot and Mera both have great feel. Tuning stability is equally good on all the straight pull designs.

They're definitely quality parts! I've personally ordered more TFM bridges than the Mera ones, but may again in the future.

Hadn't heard of them before. They look really nice though, especially easy to mount with just 4 mounting screws on the base plate. I wonder how I could get one...

@@ShawnHeath Ebay, he sells them on a (thick) base plate and also as individuals... You can find some info on TalkBass. From what I see, the base plate may require some recessing so that they don't sit too high.

Warning: I installed the Ali Express China tuners. Good manufacture but terrible design. If you touch the bridge it can change the tuning.

That ABM website is kinda sketchy and i dont trust it and wouldn't recommend going there since they are forcing visitors to accept third party cookies to view the website. Nobody should be forced to to have digital credentials from unknown sources placed on their electronic device which just makes data theft, device malware infections and identity theft easier to implement.

T4m is SHIT. Tons of problems, resonances and vibrations coming from who knows where...the guys FROM T4M told me "just cut a sponge or cloth and put some on where the parts make contact"...yeah...ABM=perfect
