One of the best memories I have growing up watching this with my late father
@PlanetEarth3141
@PlanetEarth3141 23 күн бұрын
My parents sat on couches located at an angle to the TV such that I had to turn to my right to look at them. During Headlines with Leno I'd often turn around to investigate muted sounds to see Mom tearing up with a tissue from a well used Kleenex box at the corner lamp table. Dad was also so amused watching Mom crack up he too was dabbing his eyes. Me? I was usually trying to keep on track with Jay's jokes while considering what a joke meant. Eventually I got faster on this kind of adult humor. Thank God Dad bought a TIVO. 😊

Most comedians do to an extent.
@janeeyre1990

Many, many comedians are mentally ill or neurodivergent. Andy Richter has persistent depressive disorder, meaning he is always mildly depressed and doesn't feel intense joy or euphoria. Jim Carrey has ADHD and depression. Bill Corbett of MST3K has depression. Michael Ian Black has depression. Sarah Silverman was diagnosed with clinical depression as a child and has had depression to varying degrees her whole life. John Mulaney has anxiety. Conan O'Brien has anxiety and depression. I am a neurodivergent, mentally ill, and disabled US American. It makes me proud to see my people succeeding in the field of comedy.

When you say "he suffers from depression," that is misleading. That doesn't mean he is sad all of the time. Depression is a mind disease that causes a person to not be able to cope with the everyday pressures and stresses of life. Medications can help with depression.

WIlliams suffered from an extreme case of Lewy Body Dementia. And while it was not diagnosed until after his death, it is believed to be the reason for his extreme anxiety, depression, and paranoia. The doctors who performed the autopsy said it was one of the worst cases they had ever seen. He knew he had a brain disorder. He was degrading rapidly and did not want to get to the point where he no longer knew himself. There is no treatment for it.

Robin Williams I truly miss you. There will never be anyone like you. No one will ever come close. I bet Heaven is a riot with you and Carlin. I truly truly miss Leno. He always treated his guests like friends. He just let Robin run with his comedy too. He never cut him off. Please come back to us! Fallon was not a good replacement.

Johnny Carson, Jay Leno.............Still waiting for the next Late night host. This stuff never gets old. Always looking for ones I haven't seen. I thank Robin Williams for every minute he gave us while suffering within his own world. There will never be another like Robin Williams. RIP. Robin 😭

Robin Williams interview right in the middle was unexpected but very much enjoyed, sadly the only part of that interview I wasn't laughing was when they showed the clip of that awful movie. Mr. Williams you are loved and missed by so many and the many that will never get to experience what you brough to the world. You're everything I wish I had the courage to be, myself. Thank you and I hope you've found the peace you were searching for.
