I was a perfect weight pre diabetic at 66 and no meds. Still no meds, but that is because I have been proactively working on the flaws of my metabolic system. So far so good, no longer pre diabetic, but I must cut my banana and other foods intake to almost "nada," along with other good habits. Good luck, and I hope you continue healthy, but it does not hurt to check how things are working here and there. I am glad I did barely on time.

Good to hear. I find myself on a hot subtropical island with many varieties of bananas, jungle bananas, finger bananas, red bananas, and they are ubiquitous to society and economical. So, I just eat a lot of them cooked and raw. In India, I actually took my breakfast amongst the monkeys and I shared my bananas with them. They were thin skinned bananas, baked in the sun, unctuous, creamy, meaty, satisfying. Baking in the sun made them actually feel like you were eating banana bread. They had tints or orange in them. The monkeys ate the banana skins, as well as the cows. People just dropped the skins after eating the fruit, and within seconds, an animal would delight in the skins. Bananas outside of the imported low quality rubbery skinned Cavendish variety are more organic and consuming them feels like you had a real meal.

@@onedazinn998 You probably couldn’t distinguish myself from the monkeys. (LOL) Monkeys are so smart. They actually played on my emotions, by sending their baby monkeys up to me, in hopes that their cuteness would melt me and I would give the kids the whole bunch of bananas instead of the skins. It worked. Every day I would buy extra bananas to feed them. But, it was okay. They were a bit naughty at times, but they lived in society with humans. They were more tame, but not always. They liked to steal women’s purses and rummage through their belongings, scatter them and laugh. But, other wild monkeys in the forest, never let a monkey see bananas or any other food. They will violently attack. When they are hungry, they are crazy. They get tired of eating leaves. When they see fruits and sandwiches they can’t resist.

You remind me of one of my daughters, who when a baby was so vigorous that she bit through her mother's nipples and so had to be bottle fed. It turned out that she was allergic to cow's milk, but goat's milk was fine, and she did very well on that. Then the goat farm packed up, and we couldn't find another source. My wife found a recipe in an old book [sic!] for 'A Nutritionally Sound Milk for Babies', and we tried it. It was simply ground almonds boiled for a few minutes in water, with honey added - that's all. The baby loved it, and absolutely throve! Her complexion, which was perfectly OK to begin with, began to just glow. Never seen such a healthy and happy baby. We always remember that, but can't find, and don't recall the name of, the book, which is a shame because there might have been other treasures there.

I eat bananas every day for breakfast with oatmeal and in the evenings. I keep bananas that have ripened in the freezer to make ice cream. I mix coco powder with melted coconut oil and stevia and drizzle over the banana ice cream with a few blueberries and shredded coconut. So yummy. Ripe bananas on healthy toasted bread taste like cake to me. So inexpensive as well!! What can you buy for 69 cents a pound these days that taste so good?!?

Thanks Doc, you ARE da man. You lightly touched on one aspect. While everyone IS different, nanas are a Godsend. When the back door is loose (Diarrhea), just one is the ticket. I tried Immodium once, I couldn't pass the cynder block it built in me, yet one banana acts pretty quickly and with perfect balance to my system. Forget the OTC meds, nature is ALWAYS the best way to go. Besides, this fruit is tasty too.

Michael Beltran “when the back door is loose”...LOVE it! I am a dog sitter 5 days a week. These pups have tummy issues (Great Dane & Brussels Griffon who get people food nights & weekends). I communicate their health to their owners via what the poop looks like. Gonna start telling her “the back door was loose, or fell off the hinges, or just wouldn’t open at all”, poor doggies! LOL

I am a naturopath and keep healthy without medications for many many years. What pains me is that people are becoming too materialistic and are trying to make money by hook or by crook with stupid videos. There are self proclaimed health experts who tell you not to eat this and not to eat that and in the end you find that you will die of starvation if you follow their instructions. My humble advice 1) enjoy fresh air and some sunshine whenever possible. 2) eat a balanced diet, more fruits n vegetables, grains, seeds all natural foods. If you're ill go in for salads. Less oil, salt, sweets etc. Enough water to drink. 3) exercise as much as you can, even in bed or better still take part in sports. 4) sleep well 8 hours or more. 5) take care of your mental health . Meditation, read better-yourself books. Keep cheerful. Be enthusiastic . Start a new hobby or learn a new language etc. Make good friends. For years I've been eating 8 bananas a day. 2 after every meal. Sometimes when I go out away from home I have a meal of fresh fruits only.
