My thought about the MVP conversation is that the points race already has the Art Ross, it shouldn’t also be the biggest factor in another trophy’s conversation

Im 40... the thing about Chris not knowing about anime isnt suprising because it was a much more niche fan based. It was really expensive to get anime on vhs for 5 to 10 episodes for 30 some bucks. Until cartoon network started playing anime on toonami a lot of people had no idea about it.

100% agree with the old 1v8 playoffs i feel that changing from the 1v8 to whatever it is today was the worst thing that happened to hockey in the last 10 years. You want rivalries back then have habs play leafs 6 times a year or leafs v sens or islander v rangers the list goes on. Great show lads

The argument for the way the playoffs are now, is that there is a ‘must watch’ series in every round. Instead of having the possibility that both Toronto and Florida get upset in the first round, at least one of those teams is making it to the next round.

Greig's was more disrespectful but Rielly's reaction was worse. Hischier put the puck into the empty net absent mindedly and Tkachuk lost his mind. The point isn't that the reaction is wrong, it's that Sens fans and other hockey people acted like Rielly being mad was stupid and wrong which was blatantly untrue. If Rielly being pissed was an unnecessary reaction to blatant disrespect, then Tkachuk's reaction to another empty net play that was by comparison much milder was way over the top. End of the day, both guys had the right to be pissed, Rielly just went about it in a much more dangerous manner.

At the end of the day when a team get scored on legally & it counts, generally its the fault of the defending team for letting that happen, so who cares how you score? I look at Rielly's reaction the same way as Dale Hunter's reaction to Pierre Turgeon scoring that infamous time... There were many things that were once considered against the "unwritten rules" that we laugh at now, like when Adam Oates got upset over Tomas Hertl scoring his 4th goal of the game between his legs against the Rangers in 2013 at an arbitrary time of the game that Oates considered inappropriate to do so, since then Oates condescendingly said "The Michigan" was "Instagram skill" while being Trevor Zegras' skills coach & barely anyone cared about what he said compared to 2013, which goes to show that logic eventually overcomes ego

I think playoff seating would be best if. It was seated 1-8 with each team seated by when they clinch a playoff spot.

@@people3865 teams still have to play the 82 games. Could take the last qualifier till game 82 anyways. Just cause a team clinches they would just give up? that’s a good way to get bounced in 4 games by a team who is still in game shape.

Love big money C'j but he's completely missing the point of the irony on the Brady Tkachuk situation. He made it about the leafs and Reilly and "the response" rather than just noting the irony of the situation. If you laugh at one then you have to at the other. Love the pod as always! CJ did a great job staying diplomatic.

Saying fighting is allowed in Hockey is like saying tripping is allowed, it's not you get a penalty.

Why not go back to 1-8 (with division winners given the 1st and 2nd seeds so winning a division is still worth something) and then just NOT re-seed after the first round? You get divisions that it means something to win, the fairest/easiest to understand first and second rounds (with more potential variety in round 1 match-ups and no way that the best two teams in a conference, even if they are in the same division, will meet in round 2) and you keep the bracket-style that the NHL loves so much (i.e. winner of 1v8 plays the winner of 4v5 in round two, regardless of who wins).

Chris lost a bit of steam when he realized that the matchup for the Leafs would remain the same against the Panthers. Leafs media and fans whine about the playoff seedings each year, but it really doesn't matter. Now if you really want to make it fair, make it 1-16 ignoring conference. The only problem there is the Eastern teams would complain so incredibly hard about the travel, though it would even it out as the West has so much more travel every playoff year.

Ok seriously guys leafs fans point in this is Ottawa was ok with it and it’s funny when they do it to another team on an empty net but then when a team dose it to Ottawa they get their panties in a bunch that’s the hypocrite point they are making no one is defending the cross check to the head, it’s like Julian gets joy about being a troll you clearly are not able to comprehend what Steve and them are saying…. Use a little critical thinking dude it’s not that hard
