@@EM-cz4rd I woke up before they were done, so I could feel the last 10min if surgery. My enema worked AFTER surgery so immediately when I got home I had explosive diarrhea, I was screaming and wanted to die. Fever came on and I was infected. Had to go have the sutures cut so fluid could drain. I felt every snip despite fentanyl injection. I’m finally finally finally thankful I got my surgery. I’m about 4mos post op. I got back in the 7th for a final follow up (I think) supposed to “snip” the skin that came out from the pleating idk man it’s been a fkn journey but I’m glad I’m not causing a bloody crime scene every time I potty. And I can’t believe I lived in pain for so long. I’d recommend it but tell you to be ready for whatever pain, complications may arise 🥹✌🏽

UPDATE: so at my follow up, i went medicated and prepared for snipping since that’s what he told me to expect the final visit. (Cutting the excess skin he said was just pleating) SO NOW HE ORDERED ANOTHER HEMORRHOIDECTOMY!?! And said he’d “charge me half price” so I have to fork over another $1600 on top of the $2500 i spent!! Plus go through the process of healing again!? I’m glad i don’t bleed but that’s about the only change i got for $2k. Still sore. Still painful. Tried to be optimistic but idk anymore.

I appreciate your videos about this topic so much! I like you, suffered from hemorrhoids from 2009 to 2021 and I finally had a hemorrhoidectomy on 6/28/21. I wasn’t healing correctly after that and had a very swollen area that looked and felt like an external hemorrhoid after my surgery and was in a lot of pain. I had a 2nd procedure on 9/22/21 and that swollen “skin tag” removed and I felt much better, bower like you I have a fissure from the removal of the hemorrhoid that hasn’t healed since the original procedure in June 😱 every BM I have had since June I bleed, and sometimes significantly, even though I have taken miralax everyday since June and my BM’s are soft. I also got the nitroglycerin ointment a few weeks ago and so far I don’t notice much of a difference. I have had follow ups with my surgeon every 4-6 weeks so far and they don’t know why I’m not healing yet. I just had a colonoscopy on 11/19/21 to see if there were other issues, but that came back normal. Im trying to stay positive, but I can’t do anything physical anymore without pain, or even slow walking. Hopefully I will heal and this will have been worth it, but I also hope that I can start walking again because hemorrhoids were preventing me from exercise before my surgery and now this surgical fissure is preventing me know….it’s a bummer!

If i dont it creates a fungal issue and lord i already went on antibiotics for it. In a few days i will be having an evaluation with the colonoscopy. I just want this issue to be gone. Been suffering for a year and made the proper changes. Dropped 30lbs in the last few months with just eating fiber foods. Problem has yet to subside. Ugh! I have one stage three ‘roid caused from pain meds after surgery 9 years ago. Honestly from watching these videos and others I have decided NOT to go the surgical route for relief. Sounds like half of the commenters are still in pain and discomfort months later with lots of side effects. I will continue to live with the occasional discomfort and make the dietary changes and use salt baths and ibuprofen to reduce pain. Frankly it sounds like they haven’t perfected this surgery and it’s frequently more trouble than it’s worth. Doctors are not demi-gods and it sounds like a lot of them are selling a procedure that leaves over a third of the people who get it with no relief and even more pain !! God bless everyone living with this problem and I hope you get healing.

I'm 8 months out. Your videos helped me a lot. Hope you are well. Happy New Year! 1st bm was scariest metric after surgery. Just ate softeners and ate soft diet. Don't push at all. Hot baths. Imo , try to get past 4 or 5 days. Stenosis is real issue to watch too. If I get backed up, I can get some blood. Even after almost year later. Losing weight is huge. Also, don't discount cannabis instead of narcotics. Or ask for antianxiety meds if really tense. Good luck everyone.

@TheViralShorts do you have it? Not a doctor, but the more you keep things moving the better it gets. If you are a couple months after surgery, and can't produce more than the circumference of a pencil, I'd say that you should visit your doctor. Stool softeners and fiber to answer your question directly. The surgeon may have made things to tight. Or you healed up the wrong way. Otherwise, I was told surgery. And after the hemroidectomy, I really don't feel like this surgery in this area again. I was worried, but rather have things seal up well than have fecal incontinence later. Did you have it done already? How far out are you?
@LClaypool

@TheViralShorts I wrote a big response and it was accidentally deleted. Check this our kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptyfksZ-3LyqZZs.html Also, change up diet. Take stool softeners. Use Recticare to lubricate the area for pain control. What country do you live in? Better to deal with it now than later. So sorry to hear this.

I just had my procedure done yesterday. We kinda have the same story. I had mine for about 10 years as well. Internal and external. The external ones had become thrombosed in my case. Finally got them removed yesterday via laser method. The thrombosed ones are causing me pain now as it had to be cut, unlike the internal ones which were only shot with the laser to kill their roots. It was so bad for me that every time I pooped, I couldn't sit right after or the hemorrhoids would bleed. I would usually be on my all fours for 30min to 1 hour until the swelling reduced a bit. In some ways, having hemorrhoids also caused my blood pressure to rise. That fear of eating fiber is so true especially for people who have external hemorrhoids/thrombosis. My body actually had adjusted to only poo every 2 or 3 days per week as a result of that fear. I'm glad that I finally went for the surgery. I hope my road of recovery and everyone else's who's done it would be a smooth one.

Hi! I just wanted to ask with yours. Do you remember right after the surgery when you got home, did you check your butt in the mirror? If you did, what did it look like? Did it look "smooth" like no skin tags anymore nor it looked like hemorrhoids? I wanted to ask bc I just had my surgery today, this morning, and when I got home I immediately checked mine, I thought it would looked "smooth" but it did not. Instead it looked like I still have external hemorrhoids. It looked swollen outside, It looked like a "flower" kinda looking. I know I had internal & external hemorrhoids. So, did yours looked like that? Or not? Please share. My doctor never came to visit me right after the surgery (which is weird🤔) so I wasn't able to ask questions, and I never thought about asking to the nurses as well bc I was still alil bit loopy, so I was def not myself. So hopefully the doctor or the nurses will call me tomorrow & explain everything.

My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday and I’m so terrified of long lasting pain. My hemorrhoids don’t cause much pain but I have one approximately the size of a golf ball that I’ve had for over three years (it showed up during pregnancy) and it won’t go away and just gets bigger. Once in a while they spasm or get uncomfortable but they don’t hurt all the time they’re just difficult to keep clean. I’m terrified that I may be trading discomfort for true long term pain. My doctor has definitely not prepared me for anything that you’ve mentioned in any of your videos. I’m so scared now I don’t know what to do.

Remove them!! I'm 4 weeks out of surgery. Just stay on top of the meds after surgery (you'll need someone to keep you on schedule because the meds make you sleep and you fall off schedule). Drink at least 70 ounces of water throughout the day. Stay away from oatmeal and beef ... salmon worked well for me. The surgery is worth it ... it was the toughest thing ever ... the 1st 2 weeks are extremely tough (manageable if you stay on too of meds, drink water, take a ton of baths and eat salads!!! Salads helped much more than Metamucil... I actually started eating salads with avocado ... it really helps). Also, buy Rutin via Amazon... it's a Flavanoid that helps your veins ... Get the surgery. God bless

Hi samantha, i just wana add that i know you would feel comfortable sticking to a liquid diet, but i found throughout my recovery opp that i healed faster when i ate foods that gave the nutrients i needed to heal the skin down in the rectum area. Having a liquid diet may slow the healing process because you are not getting enough vitamins to heal faster. Because i couldn’t walk around for long periods of time and spent my first 2 weeks laying on my side, i did do alot of research on how my digestion system works, how food is processed, what fibre foods would benefit my body and how they would change my eating life style. This would be a great way to take your mind off your recovery & focus on something that will benefit you once you have fully healed . Also I was able to sit on my 3rd week. I am sending you lots of healing and a speedy recovery this is not easy at all and very painful but i promise you it will be worth it in the end ❤️

If you can just get through the first week of complete and absolute hell, and manage that first poop, it gets better from there. Week 1 and week 2 we’re like night and day for me, but it’s still sore and hurts to poop after almost a month now. The numbing fully wore off after about 12 hours and the surgery pain wore off around day 4, but then the pain meds made me severely constipated even though I had been living on ensure drinks and fruit juice for 5 days which did nothing but make me malnourished have less energy more loopy and I think the iron content in those ensures can constipate you. I was terrified to eat anything bc the thought of pooping was so awful but it made it worse in the long run, eat actual food just stick to fruits and oatmeal avocados light soup maybe eggs, etc. take the stool softener and fiber supplements but don’t use miralax it will make it worse. Get a portable bidet, and make sure someone is there to stay with you for about a week. That was my biggest mistake thinking I would be fine on my own, I lived between my bed and the bathtub for a full week, walking to get food or water was a huge painful task. The pain meds are so fucked up in that you absolutely need them for the first few days but they do the worst possible thing to you, so try to ration them if you can. Out of 30 hydrocodone pills I used 22.5 of them and I rationed as much as I could physically withstand bc the pain was so bad, and constipation and muscle spasms, I could only sleep a few hours at a time once the pain meds kicked in and so I was also exhausted and sleep deprived. I was completely out of it for an entire week and I almost had to go to the ER at 3am it gets worse at night. I spent entire days sitting in the bathtub, but I’ve actually made a decently quick recovery so far because of that. The warm water helps blood flow and healing to that area and it’s the only thing that calms the pain other than the meds, and it sort of helps you rest, plus it decreases the likelihood of skin tags so stick to the bath, it’s been almost a month and Ive just recently gone down to 1-2 baths a day. Assuming your hemorrhoids never come back, the end result is definitely worth it, but 110% be prepared for a world of shit, literally and figuratively. Idk if it’ll ever look completely normal again but the visible recovery process is a lot longer than the physical one so I’ve been told. It’s not horrible but it’s not normal looking. Some wouldn’t recommend you look right away but honestly if you do, you’ll be able to appreciate how much it heals over time, bc it does get gradually much better from that.

How did your recovery go?

I ended up having to have the surgery twice (Yes, REALLY!)which was a real pain in the you know what. My recovery for the first surgery wasn’t healing for about 2 months and then the doctor had to go back in. He said it was so swollen and anywhere he touched would bleed on contact. I ended up having to stay in the hospital overnight because the doctor was worried because this was the worst case he has ever seen. After the 2nd surgery it took another 3 months to heal and to be able to be intimate with my husband. Poor guy but he was very patient. I actually cried when I saw the doctor for my 2nd follow up appointment to thank him for giving me a new lease on life and for the way it looked. I never in a million years thought that I would feel and ever look the same ever again. Oh, and I just healed in time to go on my trip with my husband. We LITERALLY just flew in from NJ to Rome, Italy yesterday. I walked all day today in Rome with absolutely no problems. I am so thankful! We get on our Princess cruise tomorrow and go all through Italy which we’ll be doing even more walking and then cruise trans-Atlantic to Florida on Dec 2nd & then fly back home that day. I can’t believe I was able to sit for the 8hour flight to Rome with no problem what so ever! Thank you for all the info. You truly put me at ease for my first surgery! Take care & may God bless you always! 🙏🏽😘😉
