I love to plant lots of perennials instead of annuals in my garden beds. Here's why!

I LOVE the succulent display on the table in the middle! Such a clever way to get succulents in the garden in an intentional and supportive way. They look like a loving collection instead of a low maintenance afterthought. Plus, perennials are AWESOME!

It saves you a lot of work as well. Plant once, have plants for years. My flower beds are nothing but perennials. Have been for the past 11 years, since we moved into our house.

And dividing the plants year after year, you get so many plants for what you paid for! I love perennials ❤

This is the lesson I’m learning now- that gardening requires such patience and trust. It does seem overwhelming with the vast variety of plants/ flowers/ herbs/ etc, and each of their preferred care methods/maintenance. It’s hard to keep up with. But I’m learning.. and also letting nature do it’s thing. 🙂

One reason why annuals are actually great because many self-seed and manage to grow in unexpected, beautiful places. All along our greenhouse there are cornflowers and we didn't have to do any work for it.

You are so right plus once they get big you can split them and have more plants to put around your house for no extra money. In the long run it's a savings because you don't have to buy each year like annuals. Your garden looks AMAZING! 👏 ✨

U guys have created a dream home and garden together. I am so happy for u both. U both show how much love and hard work it takes to grow a beautiful garden, flowers and home together. Beat wishes from Oklahoma. Would be a blessing to visit u guys. My oldest son and his boyfriend love to grow flowers, but only have a small place on their patio of the apartment. My son will love ur videos. Will give him inspiration to have their own place and the room to grow flowers and a huge garden. Ur an inspiration to so many. Keep up the awesome job.

Perennials are the way to go for sure! Especially native plants for your region. And when they outgrow the area, boom, You can split them and either share with friends or expand your garden even further. That’s a nice garden you have their! 😊🐝

🏡. It's 2023 Guys ! I'm so Excited to tell you my heart of Inspirations in my Perennials Gardens is finally full of beautiful colors throughout the seasons ! Shady beds of hostas Full sun of hydrangeas , salvia double blooming lilacs , denim and lace sage and Allium , Asiatic Lillie's in periwinkle red and hot Pinks . Hibiscus. In pink with marchino red centers . How could this bee ? I've worked with love and intention . Now I am rewarded by GoD with the " HELLO " from Daffodils to tulips and my world opens to colors I've never seen every morning before and I'm transplanting and filling in the spaces . I am so blessed ❤ I just didn't think it would ever come to this Nanna . It Beautiful ❤

Perennials are nice but you don’t want a barren landscape during the winter months. The only exception is if you live in a warmer climate . Most bloom for about two months . If I lived in a snow belt I’d have more shrubs

I love perennials and I have a ton too, but there's no arguing that most perennials bloom for a short amount of time, then you can deadhead and either they will flower again next year or MAYBE once more at the end of the summer if you're lucky. So you really have to do a lot of planning to make sure you ALWAYS have something in bloom, or , you can just additionally plant annuals that will flower constantly until first frost. I love perennials but they serve different purposes. One is not "better" than the other.

I inherited my grandma's property and there are hydrangea and gardenia bushes the same age as me. This is the first year the hydrangea actually looks healthy. How and when do I trim the hydrangea and gardenia? The gardenia is way too tall. When it blooms the limbs flop over from the weight. It's a mess. Help.

If you aren't a perennial you don't make it on my property. The only exception are my planters. And if a perennial isn't doing well, a verbal threat of being ripped from the ground usually helps them grow. 😄

Is it truly this simple ? because I'm Exhausted . I'm older . My budget is minimal $. I have a few tools . I've gotten it all cleared ( except trees ) by shovel and mower . The weeds are overwhelming me . Rocks are my borders ( I dug them up ) I have 1 ( one )water line I must protect to go all around to water . I get behind . I like using cardboard , but on the paths I'm going to use fabric and place flat stones and pins until $ is available for pea gravel to settle it in. I 'm digging borders and 10° angled lines for better water flow to ensure better water flow downward on my cottage garden . I have no fence lines yet (future wish list ) . I have hand tools for which I am truly thankful and feel so blessed by God's Grace for strength and energy in this heat . I even climb a ladder with confidence and balance again . I have been in my home almost 2 years now . Not 25 but, 2 and I am Inspired by my first video of yours 🕯 I only plant Perennials. Annuals are a waste of a valuable $ for me . Thank You for this # Short . I'll be Watching . Keep it simple . Keep it easy & truthful . It will bless All of Us 💞

@amaiaamaiaa

because annuals flower constantly until the first frost, and perennials only flower for a certain period of time, often only 2-3 weeks then have to be deadheaded and won't bloom again until next year, or at best they'll have a second flush of blooms later in the summer depending on species. But if I want a constant show of color from june to september, I need to plant annuals amongst my perennials.
