No, the video is a couple of months old already as Peter Chan already said in a comment a few above yours. And take a look at one of his latest videos where he rightfully said that it is a bad idea to repot a tree in the summer or every year. Bonsais can grow for quite a while in the same pot without any problems. Only trees with a lot of root growth or younger trees need to be repotted more often than old and mature trees. Some can even grow for 5-10 years or longer in the same pot.

Without a pot, it's not living up to its name which translates directly as tree in pot or plant in container. But yes, potted it looks great as a Bonsai!

Most of the Roseacea genus (Roses, Apple, Cotoneaster, Quince, Hawthorn etc) are prone to Rust, Blackspot and mildew. You have just got to spray it with the appropriate chemical to control these diseases.

@@Jasper_Tree But i can see well developed leaves already on the tree, so ... it must be at least and of may or early june since he repotted this hawthorn. I would really like to hear a reason behind his decision.

My guess is that this video was filmed between mid-April and May, but it was done so with a mixture of common sense and judgement from past experience. The maples in the background of the potting bench all appear to be green. In the insect pest spraying video (6th April), the maples were on the cusp of turning completely green. So, the earliest it could be when the hawthorn video was filmed is around mid-April. But, the weather conditions in the UK have been quite odd this year. Many gardeners have reported that spring was set back a month (meaning that it was colder for a longer spell than normal). I have noticed this myself from harvesting my plum trees - in previous years plum picking would take place around the third week of June but this year they need about 2-3 weeks more before they are ready to be picked.

Are you stupid? Many plants including trees and bushes do not die instantly after being severed so there is leeway to set them aside in order to do something else. Consider the flower bouquets that people buy on Valentines day: the flowers would have been cut a few days previously yet will remain alive for up to 14 days, and flower buds will even bloom if you treat them right. As long as the plant does not completely dry out there will be life in the plant. Did you know that scion material (a severed branch) used in grafting can still be viable after 6+ months if kept moist and cool?
