When it comes to corn, butter-grilled corn is a classic menu item at many izakayas (Japanese pubs). However, at our restaurant, we elevate the dish by steaming fresh corn and carefully removing each kernel before grilling it with butter. This process enhances its value and allows you to savor a flavor that differs from canned or packaged corn.
We dust the corn with flour to enhance the flavor absorption, and we thoroughly sauté the bacon to bring out its rich flavors. The final touch is adding a dash of soy sauce with the bacon, which adds a subtle salty note, so we keep the seasoning on the lighter side. While grilling, we handle the corn delicately and ensure it gets a nice sear.
