If I could afford either I'd choose a shower and real windows over floor to ceiling doors and virtual windows. Plus if I'd a choice between a B777 and A380 I'd have to go with 1st class upstairs on the A380. I'd do without the shower for the separate bed and chair in Singapore Airlines' 1st class suite.

4 tickets of those Top of the line seats should be able to charter a lower end private plane. So, I might just swing for the private jet.

yes and no, many times u can get good discounts on tickets or upgrades or even use airmiles. And a small private jet won't have the range

@@charlesjay8818 Depending on model, for example Bombardier Global 7500 may look small but it has the range of up to whooping 14,260 km and that's further than distances between New York and Tokyo. Also depending on customer preference, some Global 7500 can be fitted up to 4 single beds with proper crew rest area. But we knew that it is very unlikely to turn mileage into renting private jet but seeing airlines imposing more rules and points devaluation (Lookin at you Emirates), first classes is getting out of reach.

Most people seem to agree that the Singapore Airlines and Emirates first class are the best. Many people seem to prefer the La Premiere service of Air France, but the seats are not quite as good. Only a select few will ever experience The Residence of Etihad, and I probably won't be one of them. For a 6 hour flight between Abu Dhabi and London, I consider it overkill.

I was lucky enough to experience Emirates Spa Shower on the A380 flight home after celebrating the New Years in Dubai. Their 1st class service, dine on demand, dine as much as you wanted, and showering at 40,000 feet has to be the best. Even without the walls going from floor to ceiling you had plenty of privacy in your space. I am 6' tall and I could not see into anyone's suites once they close their doors. A passenger would have to be over 6'-5" to be able to see over the walls. I tend to fly closer to back of the plane as you describe it but if I see something nice up front I will save up money, points and miles to get that service. Hope next trip I can fly on Singapore's 1st class suite.

Meanwhile cattle class getting more and more squeezed and provided with less and less service thus all that is cut from ordinary passengers are given to premium passengers.

True, they should reimagine economy travel. It's close to inhumanity when you have a middle seat for 12 hours. And even the prices aren't that low anymore. It's actually more expensive than before they were cutting space and service. So it's pay more get less attitude.

I recently flew extra leg room economy on United. I found additional service, amenities, and comfort compared to a few years ago.

@@inomad lucky you. I see major degradation of the economy product in the past 20 years, while it did not became cheaper when one flies with legacy carrier.

Qatar airways has a major issue. Seats on aircraft should face in one direction only and that is towards the front of the aircraft. None of this facing backwards crap.

Qatar's not the only one being like that, you know. ANA's new business class has some of its seats faced backwards, and before Qatar and ANA, Etihad's Business Studio on its A380 and B787, British Airways' old Club World and United's old business class seats also had some of its seats faced backwards.
