In terms of occupant amenity, the A220 also has larger stowage lockers and toilets. The galley areas are also larger, helping the crew.

When will Air India use new aircrafts with the latest entertainment system on long haul sectors like USA - India & Canada - India ???? These sectors still have old , dated aircrafts with old entertainment systems with screens not working.

How can the a320 neo carry more passengers than the 737 max 9, the max 9 is 5 metres longer. You also looked at the max single class pax for the A320 neo and the maximum 2 class paxs for the 737. The 737 max 9 carries 13 more pax at 2 class config.

It would have been better, the flag carrier expanding , so do our airport and infrastructure leading to the new bulacan airport. The problem is not just with the pal’s fleet, but also the airport infrastructure and road infrastructure we currently have, it just cannot support additional planes and passengers. Thats the reason why arabic , hk, sg , etc were able to expand easily is because theyve really built a nice infrastructure that enabled them to become a hub. How can MNL be a hub with our current ifra? Traffic runway, traffic going to the airport, traffic going out from the airpot, traffic in the immigration. We should also modernize our airpot practices.

I think it's a bit excessive in the USA. But then again, it's such that you could be flying for a couple of hours in Europe and have passed multiple countries and flying for an hour in the USA and not leave your state. So the demand for air travel is proportionally greater there. Maybe, in that sense, it should be more hours needed. But more than 5 times the EU and Chinese requirement still seems a bit excessive. Especially compared to China with the population of the countries in the region.

I’m a western Canadian with family in Switzerland. I’ve flown to Switzerland 4 times in my life and I preferred the time I had connecting flights in eastern Canada; Toronto on the way over, Montreal coming home. It takes longer but was nicer as I didn’t have as long on a single plane. 7 hours vs 10+. I hope to visit Australia as my next major journey and I hope to fly through the Middle East.

Just booked the same route in business class. Even though Finnair charges for seat reservation extra even in business class flights, they are still cheaper then others. Well if you know how to trick the algorithms which cause significant price differences when checking for flight online.

Either Delta or United. Delta uses mostly Airbus planes and United is on the same alliance with Aegean airlines, which could make transit easier in LHR. Both airlines have great cabins and services, although British Airways is a great choice as well

You missed out or messed up a lot of this information. Referring to flight levels as altitudes is one thing, and getting random routing wrong is another. If you’re not going to present information correctly then don’t bother, or are you dumbing down content for the audience?

I have to hire a pilot for my plane from 3 choices. One has 2000 hours flying banners at the beach. One has 1000 hours flight instructing. One has 200 hours single pilot flying all seasons night scheduled freight. I want the cargo pilot. Airlines also consider D I E (Diversity Inclusion Equity) or D E I ( Didn't Earn It) so their qualifications are different.

In EU the graduates from academies associated with airlines can get into the airline cockpit with about 300 hours and a multi crew license. By the time they graduate they will have a type rating for the aircraft used by the airline. The process took about 18 to 24 months from zero flight time to job and about US$125,000.

The US has the least effective path to airline flying. Too much time wasted on having to be flight instructors in light aircraft doing maneuvers instead of practicing real world transportation flying in complex aircraft. New pilots out of school can have a hard time going to charter or corporate because of insurance requirements.

Quantity is not quality, requiring huge amounts of hour doesn't mean a person is apt to be a commercial pilot. There has been (and probably will be) many incidents where "experienced" pilots made dumb mistakes for lack of knowledge or experience in edge situations. All programs should focus on variety, training and testing and not just a logbook hours that you don't even know they were properly flown. Don't need to go too far to watch this effect: there have been many KZfaqr-pilots accidents recently where the "pilot" was extremelly poor and for some magical reason had up to instructor licenses but didn't know the basics on flying.

As a Canadian I found it hilarious Boeing tried to squash the C-series and ended up giving airbus a perfect platform to enter into that market segment, which is now an extremely popular product.

The change was a response to the Colgan Air crash, in which both pilots had more hours than that anyway. The accident report suggested that neither pilot had any business being at the sharp end of an airliner. Raising the barrier to entry risks deterring people who would make competent pilots in favour of those who particularly want to be pilots.

The change after Colgan air was done because of solely political pressure brought by the families. It was not a recommendation from the NTSB or FAA after the accident.

The US requirement threw out the baby with the bathwater, in my opinion. It was a kneejerk reaction to a situation that developed. The European system is much more level-headed here.

I would say that the hour req. and only allowing full ATPL makes US aviation more dangerous as it gives the pilots time to develop bad habits where the way done in Europe is better as it stops bad habits from starting to develop with a frozen ATPL and then at a certain hour mark they can get a ATPL which then allows the holder to become eg. a captain

Is there a mistake in the flight path? Why is the map of the SIN-FRA-JFK service directly overflying Ukrainian airspace ? I hope SQ are not overflying Ukraine. This brings back sinister memories of how an SQ flight was merely minutes directly behind MH17 on that horrible day in 2014.

The Triple 7 and it's " little sister", the 757, are my absolute favorites. What a shame that Boeing is a shell of it's former self. Perhaps if they took a step back and realize how great they used to be, maybe they would go back to being the pride of America.

$12,000 a ticket? I can fly round trip NY to Australia for $3,000 or less today. That's the equivalent of $137 in 1937 money. What was key for me in this video documentary was the fact that so, so, so many airports were built because of the war, that would NEVER have been built based on a corporate profit and loss or return on investment calculation. Further, the war pushed jet flight forward by at least 20 years faster than if there were no war. So WAR led to the demise of the Clippers by, say, 20 years sooner than if there had not been a war.

Keep hearing there's going to be a shortage of commercial pilot and given the number of on going war, major military powers will hold on to their current pilots, so early retired airforce pilot won't fill the shortage! So why on earth major carriers thought: "Oh what we need is more smaller planes flying the same route even when we can't find the pilot to do the flying!" and didn't see any flaw in the plan!
