This was the first one I decided to watch live. I started watching this series because I'm planning on running Strahd for my players soon and wanted to see how another DM ran the adventure from the same information provided by the module. On one hand, I'm a little sad that Mark changed so much and made doing that impossible. On the other hand, I am LOVING this interpretation of Strahd. Keep it up!

He changed it because they played the main module. So it’s not a good interpretation for new players. Still other online dms have done it. I listen to puffin which is sorta a very short (and funny) run through of their campaign. It be a good listen to see what may happen if the party continually fucks everything up 😂

I would also suggest that you watch the S1 of DCA, because Perkins really knows how to make the best of the material and tone of the campaign. But here from Mark, even though he has changed much, you can still pick up how to make veeeery eerie atmospere with words/sounds and how to describe mundane things to make them scary. The environment is after all the main NPC in CoS! (Sorry Strahd, plz no bite.)

Yesper's way of talking reminds me a bit of Janosz in Ghostbusters 2, especially when he's nervous. The halting speech and little anxious laughs.

I started this campaign and well.... they kept trying to murder each other, stabbing the wall, trying to burn the house down and even more cries to murder the children. It was interesting.

Roll 20 dynamic lighting is so awesome when you can get it to work the way you want it to.last time I used it for some reason the humans were able to see as if they had dark vision even though I turned theirs off

It is possible to set in Roll20 to give them 20 ft of bright and 20 ft of dim light from the light source, which the Light spell gives.

Every DM is going to take advantage if you walk around in the dark. They didn't even make light when he heard something with passive awareness. That was their warning to get ready and still they stumbled around not prepared for battle. Knowing there's something there is not the same as understanding a potential threat.

Xiika's are fine. Nothing super OP but nothing super low either. Xiros is the one who seems a little low but he does have that 19 strength.

Tosh Omni I disagree I feel like Toms are one of the best I feel like having a low number in your stats is fine as long as your main stats are high and as a fighter him having high con and str is all he needs and he’s got it Xiiki and shadows are both quite bad for the same reasons having a low stat number in their corresponding spell casting stat.

I am absolutely loving this revamped Curse of Strahd. I like the player’s roleplay, the twists and turns. I don’t love that at around 1:49, I have to “F***ing Jesus” as an expletive. You would never use a homophobic slur because that would be an inexcusable attack on someone’s identity. My faith in Christ is the most important part of my identity. Could I get at least the same respect?

No, it isn't. There is a little ember glow on the artwork but a hellhound is mostly black. And would you try to justify an advantage component akin to fairy fire that isn't in the stat block? Consult the age old idiom regarding assumptions.
