This is my high yield review guide to PASS the USMLE Step 1 Exam and should be reviewed in the final week before your exam. The Step 1 exam is probably the single most difficult / hardest exam in medical school and depending on how you studied, every mark matters sometimes. It's similar to the MCAT in some ways, but considerably more difficult given the amount of Information that you need to know. As a Canadian medical student in my final year of clinical rotations, I needed to come up with a plan to pass one of the hardest exams in medical school on my first attempt and while studying part time... this is what I review in my final week to make sure that I could do that!
This is a free / non-sponsored video designed only to help other students. If you have any questions about the exam or how to prepare, please feel free to leave a comment below :)

Wow u covered alot in a short time. This would be good to save for those who know there taking the test soon as they can keep repeating the video. When I was a Nurse the genetic specialists fascinated me. Like Holly smokes there brains are packed full of things u never hear of. My question is. When u studied Marfan did u also study Beals syndrome. My grandson was born in 2000 with Beals. All 10 of his specialists knew he had some kind of syndrome but had no clue as to what. They had to wait a yr for appt with genetic doc. While waiting he had a GTUBE, TRACH. It was the NORD institute who actually suspected BEALS . The genetic appt was 5 hrs. She had all the tests done prior. Now they suspect alot of marfan babies actually are misdiagnosed and actually have BEALS syndrome instead which in 2000 the genetic specialist prodected would happen. 🤔 of course I'm not a med student but once you've been in the medical field u just crave learning. I thank u.

Thanks for sharing that Sherry :) Quite honestly, I've only come across BEALS in passive reading - never had a dedicated lecture on it or seen a case while in the hospital - plenty of instruction on Marfan syndrome though. I'm sure that with your personal experience as well as your nursing career you definitely know a lot more about that syndrome than most medical students - with maybe the exception of those with a particular interest in genetic syndromes? The Step 1 and USMLE exams in general (as well as the Canadian exams) are done before we become staff physicians. I would suspect that many conditions (including BEALS) are reviewed with us in more depth during residency :) Keep on learning 💪😎
