A well crafted video and I really enjoyed the eclectic soundtrack. Good to see Max having his second bath of the year whether he wanted it or not. Good effort all round. If Maxs' feet are as bad as mine some handcrafted boots from Merrifields of London SE22 8DY will sort it right out. Be well.

Wow !, what a great video !. I came here from Max’s channel. That place looks stunning. I’m very happy to see that Max completed the trail, 80 miles is no cakewalk !, and with homemade gear too !!. He does seem to fit into the landscape very well though, he just needs a sword and a Viking helmet 😂😂😂.

Great trip! You probably went past my house on the way up to Skye. I moved up to the Highlands in ‘22. I love it up here! The people are great and it’s so damn beautiful! Winter is my favourite time as it’s so quiet and peaceful. That said, it’s easy to avoid the tourists. If you stay away from the main spots there’s pretty much no one there! (Which is how I like it!). I’ve been watching Maxs channel for years and really admire his attitude and skills, however, for big hikes you really need to make him get some decent gear and especially quality boots!! Best wishes from Glenmoriston.

Big thanks for uploading. I found the topography really awe-inspiring! Plus, through watching your video, I also learnt something new about Max’s Polish Lavvu poncho tent. I saw it featured in the Bushcraft Show 2024, and it looks like you can get an additional bottom skirt which turns it into a bell tent with sides. It certainly looks like you both had a fantastic adventure together!

Thank you for watching Mookie, glad you enjoyed it. :) Yes, as Skye is very windy, there are so few trees and it was quite odd to be in such an open space with no trees for miles. The sea dips were very...refreshing... hahah

Hi Keitei, Great to see you back out again, I was beginning to think you had settled down to a normal life. Looking at all that food spread out, you mentioned weighing it, reminded me of a previous trip when you spoke of tearing pages out of the trail book to save weight😀. I see the trusted plumbing joint is still holding the tent up. You mentioned phone boxes now converted to defibrillators and bookswaps, that's progress for you. I notice Max likes his military mug and stove, completely indestructible. Shame about all the plastic on the beach. Didn't spot a film date but you still have bluebells. Is Max as big a fan of cake 🎂 as you are? Well done for the beach clean! Cheers Graham
@KeiteiVentures
@KeiteiVentures Ай бұрын
Hahaha, would like to avoid a normal life :) Yep, the plumbing joint did a fine job of keeping the tent upright and us dry. We hiked the trail in mid May, I think plants and flowers bloom later in Scotland as it's slower to warm up. In Yorkshire the bluebells had been out for a few weeks already. Max has more of a savory tooth than a sweet tooth - think I eat enough cake for the both of us :D Hope you're keeping well Graham :)

A bothy was actually a house/hut they would make alcohol in and they would be hidden away, but many non gaelic speaker use that name as that traditional name is harder to pronounce. Airigh pronounced sort of like ah-thee is the traditional name for them. And I only learned that after my grandparents gave me hell when I said I spent the week in a bothy. And I am originally from the western Isles

Bothan (boh-han) is the origin of the word bothy. But àirigh is another term. Let's face it, all homes in the highlands were places where alcohol was made! 😉

I was starting to think you must have been on a big walk as you’ve been quiet for a couple of weeks 😆. Looked like a lovely hike even with the rain 😖. Last walk I did was in Austria looking in clear mountain water and 19c in march! Glad Max survived… guess he made it back again?!? (Can just see him curled up rocking gently after trying to keep with your massive strides😬)

You make really good entertaining videos and I’ve often wondered whether you get approached by various manufacturers etc to try out their products or even get offered sponsorship? As watching you build your tiny house from scratch literally left me in awe. Plus, your style of camping and your sheer enthusiasm for seeking out adventure, most definitely inspires other peeps to get out and about and try wild camping/hiking etc for themselves. So, if you don’t get offered products to try out or even sponsorship, I want to know why? As KZfaq is awash with channels trying out products from manufacturers and gaining sponsorship, that literally couldn’t hold a candle to your channel!

I do get emails from people offering random camping related gear and SEO help. They are not offers I would consider or items I would buy myself so I could never see myself sincerely selling them, think I'd make a bad sales woman :p It's flattering to be considered but then again I think they send out 100 of these emails and see who responds.

Aye, those no camping signs near Elgol are illegal. They're tagging it onto the no overnight parking. For people on foot you can ignore them and stand your ground if anyone tries to move you along. Gotta ask, how much did the Lavvu weigh? Looked cosy but I wouldn't fancy lugging it around!
@KeiteiVentures
@KeiteiVentures Ай бұрын
Yeah, we didn't want to aggregate anyone and certainly didn't want any hassle once we'd gotten ready for bed. The lavvu weighs 3kg which is pretty hefty but it is noticeably, darker and roomier than my tent (not that that's hard hahah). Definitely heavy but we did appreciate it every night.
