Third. Can't wait for your reaction to Led Zeppelin 4. I agree it's one of the best Zeppelin albums, with the exception of one song. It's the only Zeppelin song I've never heard all the way through however.

My name is Ned and I'm a drummer. There's one thing I wanna say about Moby Dick is the first part of the drum solo, John " Bonzo" Bonham is using his bare hands even in the intense rolling triplets then switches to drum sticks to bring it up a notch. The whole album is a big bad banger.

“Bring it on Home” live from Royal Albert Hall in 1970. This is a great live performance. Robert does play the harmonica.
@saxombie8614

You can easily catch Robert Plant image on "Bring it on home" handling his harmonica and then singing on same mic he making phrases with the instrument, with the mouth very close to the mic, same as with the harmonica. Its a very common posture of people (bluesmans) that plays harmonica and sings at same time. He even using the same voice modulation he applying on the instrument LOL (like singing with the mouth almost closed)

Really enjoying your reactions to LZ's albums. As for the last song, "Bring It On Home", if that was your favorite track on this album, you'd likely enjoy watching their live performance of it. Check out their 1970 Royal Albert Hall concert version. Would love to see your reaction to it if you decide to do that. As for who's playing the harmonica, while both Page and Plant are both killer harmonica players, Plant always played it for their songs. Looking forward to your reaction to album 3 if you do it. Head's up, though, it's very different from their first two albums. Excellent as well, just a bit different. And congrats on pending fatherhood! 👊

First off, congrats on the upcoming birth of your little girl. If you expose her to Led Zeppelin she'll fall in love with them like million's of others. You asked about live versions of Zeppelin, watch the Knebworth concert from '79, recorded shortly before Bonham's death. As far as live recordings, How the West Was Won is considered their finest although The Song Remains the Same was first. It's a triple cd with a 25 minute version of Moby Dick as well as an incredible version of Ramble On and Bring it on Home

Zep II is my least favorite Zeppelin album. Not because it's bad, it's fantastic. Blew me away the first time I heard it. It just got played to death when I was a teenager. Their debut album is still my favorite. I think the second one came out so quickly after the first album, that LZ 1 didn't have time to sink in for a lot of people, so it sorta got overlooked compared to LZ 2. My favorite from it is the last track, Bring in On Home. That's a badass guitar riff.

Ben a Zep fan since the beginning. Enjoy watching you discover Zep, brings back many memories of our fun hippy youth. You could go down the Zep Rabbit Hole very deeply. Many of us are well versed on them, their lives, families and all things Zep, like old well known friends. Robert Plant had his 75th birthday yesterday, Aug. 20th. Robert plays the harp. He continues to do so today with his bands through the decades. Hope to be with you through all the albumes. They did not allow 45s to be released.

Moby Dick live at Royal Albert Hall 1970 is a drum clinic. It's distinct from the other live performances of the song/solo. Thank you LIL J for starting from the beginning with Led Zeppelin. As a Beatles fanatic, I'd recommend doing the same starting with A Hard Day's Night. Most people recommend starting from Rubber Soul and progressing on but many great hits are missed in doing so. The early music may sound dated but I'm believing your ears will be able to hear the genius. Your reacts are A-A-Absolutely Filthy!! Thank you and God bless :)

You are a great reactor. - and I can tell you have a lot of heart. I noticed the 'digital' sound comes through at 3:00 ish - when it gets quiet. There's a lot of 'background digital reverb' that is actually distracting - and I hope you can do something for your own listening pleasure: Find the vinyl, buy an old school record player and some decent speakers. Do it was it WAS DONE. ;). Seriously though, there's a warmth and *envelopment* we can't recreate online.

Back in the day, we use to say "Zep's the best, fuk the rest!" Down the line, you gotta listen to Metallica "Master of Puppets" and "Ride the lightning"... 2 of the best hard rock albums of all time. Led Zeppelin invented BANGERS before it was a thing. If you watch the documentary movie "the song remains the same" you'll see John Bonhams dragster in action during Moby Dick and get some behind the scenes footage too, including their legendary manager Peter Grant who changed the game for artists going forward getting Led 90% of the gate instead of 50% - he also was the one who suggested dropping the A in Led Zeppelin. Oh yeah he also got them their own label to sign bands - Swan Song, it didn't do that great ultimately but they did sign Bad Co. as their first band so....

Lovin your reactions! This album has some of JPJ's most delicious bass lines. Ramble On is my favorite on this album. They never did the full song live as a band - bits and pieces here and there. The only full live performance is at the "reunion" concert in 2007 with Bonzo's son Jason on drums. It's fabulous and so is the concert. Here's a link if you want to check it out. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e7-VepaC19zPdXk.html The Battle of Evermore on LZIV is another song heavily influenced by Tolkien. Can't wait for LZIII. Thanks.
