Today we are checking out Damian Penaud of the France National Team and the Top 14 club Bordeaux Bègles. This player was recommended to me in the comments of my last Antoine Dupont reaction by romainviry3185 so thanks a ton for the suggestion. Extremely exciting player to watch. Love the combo of his size and speed. Seems to be a bit of a unicorn type player from what I've seen thus far. Really curious to know how the rest of the Rugby world views him. And who else is a must watch from this French squad? Let me know.

The try with such quick passes is the penultimate try of the French against England in 2023 during the 6 nations at Twickenham 53-10 according to the English commentators never before had England been so humiliated. When morale is not at its highest I watch the match again and I am pumped up for the week

The back 3 (wings and Fullback) play a type of cover defense that in American Football would be called a Corner rotating zone. If the ball goes to the right the defensive Left Wing would come up, the Fullback moves to cover the space behind him and the Right Wing move back and towards the center. That's how he's fielding kicks in the center.

Ahah mate, told you you would like Damian the vampire, never give him a taste of blood !❤ Well spotted , he tends to operate in the middle of the field to break tackles , not all wingers do that, matter of style Penaud thought about going for sevens this year but turned it down in the end. He s France best try scorer ever since last year, beating the legend Serge Blanco from the 80/90s , he was our Pele of rugby at that time 😊 Long story short, glad you liked it , Penaud is also an absolute laugh off the pitch ❤ Yea that was the ABs at the end, they sometimes play in white vs France , the only major team with a dark blue shirt . Yellow shirt is club of Clermont (ASM), Penaud now plays for Bordeaux with Mathieu Jalibert, another genius you could have a look at Michalak, Elissalde, Ramos, Sella, Dominici, NTamack father and son ❤

The clip where he's wearing white with a blue and yellow criss-cross pattern and makes a tackle against a team in red and black - that's a European Champions Cup match between Clermont and my team, Ulster, in 2021. He got two tries that game, one of them later in the video, but we beat them, in Clermont. I have very fond memories of that game. We also won the return fixture in Belfast in January 2022, although they gave us a late scare. The guy he's tackling is Duane Vermeulen, who was a beast of a player.

The reason that bench players are “waiting” for the try scorer in the in-goal area is because reserves have to warm-up in the in-goal area where their team scores.

I find that these kind of videos are way more suited for players like Penaud, big scores whose task is mainly to score tries, than those like Dupont, for which I always find than highlights don't quite show the influence they have in the game.

Definitely agree. Some players are highlight types, while better players won't look as pretty. Especially in Rugby.

Rush defense mastermind: he always knows how to place himself between the opponents attack at the very offside limit, that’s why he make so much interceptions.

Pro tip for your Wikipedia research, if you're looking up players from countries that aren't English speaking (eg: France, Argentina, Japan) its often better to change the page language to the native language and then use the google auto translate feature to change it back to English. You get a lot more information and the translation is pretty good.

with the french jersey just 2 tries and he beat the all time french record (38 tries) Now he's mostly a winger (14) but at the start of his carreer he plays in the centre (13) and as a winger he love come in the centre to propose different possibilities. Yes the last try is versus the all blacks who plays in whiyr this time
