The Springboks had 140lbs dumbells and he found them to light so the had to make custom 165lbs dumbells for him to train with.

Love that you actually get a bit of info about the player and the position before reviewing because I've seen other channels reacting and have idea on who they are even reacting to or what team they play for ...and when it's a scrum, the comment is always wtf are they doing here-what is this tug of war they are doing.. So pleasure to watch your video because it shows you are keen on learning and giving and informed reaction

Thank you. I remember another reactor that I used to watch (I forget his name, he was an Aussie that reacted to hockey) do the wikipedia/info thing and always loved that so I figured I'd try it out. I'll make sure to keep doing it. Definitely gives me more context and such.

A derivative of he's surname is 'Ysterbeth' , loosely meaning Ironman in Afrikaans. He could realistically become the most capped Springbok in the next year even, if he remains fit and uninjured. Great reaction channel here. Hope you carry on with your various rugby reactions in the future.

In our recent history of playing rugby at the world stage we are blessed to have freaks of nature from one generation of players to the next. After Bakkies Botha who's known as the Original Enforcer, a violent man on the battlefield we had Eben Etzebeth as another Enforcer 2.0 who's just as ruthless but calculating and not careless as Bakkies.

Fun seeing you struggle through the names, good effort lad. Locks are often the "enforcers" the *goons. Etsebeth has 70kg dumbells. He is a big lad

Eben has matured into a very fine man indeed; a leader by example and a great ambassador for South African and World Rugby. He is the latest Bokke "enforcer" giant, but there is no: "Greatest Enforcer" of all time, simply a continuation of tough locks within their respective career spans. With the up-most respect to him and the Bokke faithful, there have been men tougher than Eben that have worn that coveted Green and Gold jersey with the Springbok emblem, in my opinion. Eben can 'look after himself' though, against any of the other "enforcers". God bless him 🏴‍☠☘.

He is an absolute MONSTER. Very few players before him have had the same effect, except for Bakkies Botha and a few notable others. Now understand that the Springboks are made up of 15+ members of equal or better talent. Easy to see why they won their 4 RWC in 2023. A point's difference in still a win, paint it anyway you like.

Many years ago you could get away with throwing punches on the field and just get a penalty.. the rules have changed over the years and now you get red carded... but that's one of the reasons I watched rugby...the physicality. After the matches the teams get together for drinks and all that animosity on the field is put aside. Can celebrate and they do especially when playing an important tournament but it's not an in your face celebration...because rugby as brutal as it is is all about respect.

Loved seeing the Irish team pick Etzebeth up and hold him in the air helpless…. Etzebeth could dish it out but couldn’t take same treatment done back to him Sadly I feel South African fans idolise players who display authority over others and see it as gamesmanship

South African here, Controversial opinion incoming. Never understood why people love Etzebeth (Not just Saffa's, Ive seen many reactors love him too) Sure, he's a great player, but his attitude totally spoils anything positive he does... @pierre2898 to be fair, maybe youre right, Im a fairly young rugby fan here, I definitely don't speak for all rugby fans, just the ones I've talked to about it. I grew up watching Schalks last few years on the field. They weren't his best years, but that's the lasting memories I have of his time on the field. Needlessly violent, giving away penalties that would cost us games, just because he wanted to hurt people in unique and interesting ways. Obviously I'm a little bitter. The team wasn't doing great at the time, and I felt like he wasnt helping our game or our image... Appreciate you not simply calling me an idiot and moving on with your day... I'll do some research and try to find something good to remember about him too. Any recommendations?

Out of interest and assuming he had the skills, how would someone like him translate into hockey as it is also quite a heavy contact sport?
@EamonnReacts
@EamonnReacts 4 ай бұрын
There are very few guys his size in hockey. Can only think of maybe 3 guys that are the same height.. nobody else is close to his weight though. There are a few giants that ended up being great players like Zdeno Chara for example but most guys that are that tall end up being the "goons" of the sport where they only play once in a while and just fight someone instead of really playing hockey. If Etzebeth learned how to skate at a pro level he'd most likely end up in the fighter category. Hockey's weird because you'd think bigger would be better but the coordination needed to skate sometimes hurts the big guys.
