Hokkaido Milk Bread (with tangzhong technique)
Ingredients:
For tangzhong:
- 40g bread flour
- 100ml water
- 100ml milk
For the dough:
- 600g bread flour
- 230ml lukewarm milk
- 60g sugar
- 50g soften butter
- 1 large egg
- 8g salt
- 5g dry yeast (or 15g fresh yeast)
For the egg wash:
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tbsp milk
You can adjust the amount of sugar and salt to make it saltier or sweeter, as you like. That is just my suggestion. But in case you want a sweeter bread, don't remove all the salt. Make sure you keep a small amount to enhance the bread flavor.
