Very Nice! Just sift the shot thru a few different size sieves and see what you get! This is excellent and the way we should help each other make things easier and cheaper. Congrats!

I think you jut gave me the base of an idea for me to start from to make one. I will attempt to make one purely from scrap!

Cool. I think polishing the surface where it drips onto might help stop the sticking. I saw one using a wet rag on a board and the guy simply splashed a little coolant on there from time to time.

I tried that and it got better however I found that rubbing grafite works the best.

Hi, I used water softener the cheap stuff, mix with a bit of water, too thick by itself.

Good idea! Maybe rotate the cast iron 90°, so it doesn't pour on the hot plate. Other versions have it drip directly into the coolant. Keep up the good work

It's thick enough I think so it dosent cool the shot too fast and deform the shot. I guess it can do a popcorn thing if it cools to fast
