@manuelcarreno920
@manuelcarreno920 8 ай бұрын

@SuperFastDriver
@SuperFastDriver 2 жыл бұрын

Haha that’s funny a buddy of mine and I did something almost identical to that about 8 years ago. Ours rotated a lot faster, went through multiple layers of rock, we pumped a slurry to flush it out, and stopped around 120’ or 130’. He still uses the well. It was all homemade and something I will never forget. People were amazed that we used an 2 or 3hp electric motor from an old water pump.

You need to think like the well drillers that built and designed the rigs you use today, my grandfather was one of them, he would have loved this idea, laughed at your comment and simply told you build a pneumatic hammer attachment to hang at the bottom of the "drill rods", honestly i could build a system like this for 5 inch wells that would give me a rig that is light and limber enough to get to locations other drillers dare not go. As well as reduce the amount of property damage or clearing that needs to be done when drilling wells, usually wells aren't drilled in places easy to get to, especially these days. No shit welldrillers these days are dieing left and right, none of them want to improve the process, they inherited a way to do it. And will never ever consider a possible alternative to the problems their business deals with in our modern Era.

@@kuztomz any living thing that stops growing learning a d getting better, quickly dies off, the market and nature are no different then one another. Anyone who thinks they are better then everyone else and really believes that, when they never even see if they themselves can do better the the person they were yesterday. Well those people always have been and always will be total failures to everyone around them. Because it may function for a period of time, but if your ideas aren't build on the principals of integrity, Stability, and Growth, then you will never see long term success in any of your ideas, regardless of how much merit your ideas have. Good strong Ideas are no different then good strong species of any biological thing, each one of them adapts, or disappears. So will you embrace your human ability to adapt via the choice of your actions or the principals you choose to base your decision making upon, or will you be as the animals and plants and have your decisions driven by instincts and emotions, all the while believing that you are superior to everyone around you because you know better then anyone else. I dont think people loke that can be changed, I think they have en expiration date stamped to their forehead by mother nature alone. Strength isnt the ability to inflict a greater harm on your enemy, strength is to see when you can make a sacrifice to come to the table to see your enemies are just as human as the rest of us, and that an eye for an eye is an easy trap for all of us, but forgiveness is the only path forward for the redemption of our human selves.... so we need those old bad close minded leader to be here, as an example of how not to lead, I've learned from the mistakes of people around me before I ever even consider thinking I was wise enough to be right about what good leaders are and how they think. Good leaders when hearing the history of the phrase "Murphys law" should have tears of inspiration from the person who coined the term. Unintended consequences of not growing, are somthing you are aware of, or not. It cannot be taught, only be found without extensive inner and outer exploration and reflection.

@@kuztomz sorry for the sermon/lecture. It's my inner dad getting annoyed with both the kids and adults these days, it's not you lol. I apologize that you got caught up in the crossfire there lol. I'm frustrated that we lost the passion for the garage engineers of our history, the ones our modern Era wouldn't have existed if we didn't have them. Don't sell yourself or your idea short, build it yourself, work with a single local bank or some e who you can trust for initial funding, have a slow growth plan that garintees you will always meet or exceed your expected goals, pay off the initial debt and never use anything other then money earned to grow. Beautiful thing about merit, is if your idea has any, then if you build it, they will come, and that's the only marketing class any good businessman ever needs to know.

I like your design, but I will need a design that can break/cut through very hard basalt/granite rocks embedded in glacial till sandy soil. These eratics prevent use of a straight auger type drill or a sand spike. Any suggestions

Very slow but works. I wonder what happens when they hit water bearing sand. I dug mine by hand and at 8’ couldn’t dig any deeper. The hole just kept filling in at the bottom.

If you sent a pipes down behind your drill head, you could've gravity fed water into the top, then pumped it back up at the bottom to clear the hole of dirt and other fine debris. With a simple filter, and I mean simple like a couple of t-shirts and a sediment bucket, you could use the same water over and over again, mostly clearing the hole until you reached your desired depth. At which point stop letting water flow back in, wait a while for the slurry at the bottom to dry out, then raised the drill head.

@@SuperFastDriver If you don't mind refitting your drill's power head, you can install a drill swivel to inject water down the power shaft to the head. This will allow the debris to bias up the shaft to be siphoned off at the top. It's a little more complicated, and you might want to buy the part instead of building it, but it would allow you to drill non-stop until you hit your desired depth. Combines with the return pipe for sediment, it could increase and simplify operation... if you do this kind of thing a lot...
