Take the Bird to the track for the 2nd time, let's see if the mods I made to the bike make a difference in the the quest for consistent 10's.

A blessing came to me today and I found a 1998 blackbird crashed bike in tow yard got it for $300 it needs front forks and trees And tank and plastics,seat I'm happy because I sold my 1997 in 2014 and regret it everyday but it wasn't a good street bike to many mods I ran it at moroso Speedway 4 times The fastest I could get was et 8:19 at 170ish mph this one is staying stock thanks for the video brought me back to my days👍

I used to work at Pail Thedes Race Tech I'm Pomona,Ca. We rebuilt the suspension, replaced stock springs. Got a chance to ride post upgrade. Incredible. The engine is flawless, so smooth delivery. Good times, great bike. MC

Ive Got a 2005 blackbird & me old faithful 2000 that i need to mot & sell. Ive always had a blackbird since i sold my 98 blade(fox eyed) ....and im simply staying with a blackbird! Does everything it says on the tin in my book & deliver what ever you ask sir🍾✊ I keep telling my friends to keep buying their new bikes every year lol........ You keep looking in your mirrors every year lads!! I'll Be Their smiling behind u ready to pounce on my comfortable silent rocket😆💪😘

My son inlaw found a 98, the fellow was a armchair rider, and a engineer he could not figure out how to get it running, so he sold it for 1000 dollars, it took us about a week to sort out the issues, new plugs sync the carbs, he had the plug wires backwards. Runs perfect now, does need a new paint job. He can now keep up with me. ZZR1200 vs Blackbird. Lol

Great launches, I launch my Bird (no extended swing arm) @ 4000 too, any higher and I'm fighting wheelie and I can't get the throttle wide open in first. A good start the needle goes up then slightly down then all the way up to rev limiter before change. Top stuff.

Good job. Might want to try adding a rear sprocket with 2 teeth more than stock for a quicker response off the line. My best with my 2003 US spec model, lower gearing and a 4 into 1 Muzzy exhaust was 10.615 @ 136.83 mph. This was back in September of 2005 here in the states.

Good afternoon, please tell me, when revving and resetting at revs and at idle, the temperature jumps by two or three degrees + - immediately, when releasing gas in a big direction, and also when dialing down. 2006 1100xx

I had a Blackbird almost new in 2003, best bike ever by a country mile! Is it possible to fit a quick -shifter? surely it would eliminate a few 10ths of a second, or are they against the rules on drag races?

Brilliant video and really interesting experiment as well. Your initial launch seems really nicely controlled. What next though? Quick shifter, low fuel load, more aero leathers?

Yep, Quickshifter next then sprockets shorter gearing, then race gas.

nice runs, great vid, do you have a power commander on it? I know delkavic say you dont need to tune, but i was just wondering if you had one fitted as well.

@@itchythrottle3304 cheers mate, I've got a pair of 450mm delkavics on my 2004 bird, just the cans, and I have disconnected the o2 sensor and put a o2 plug in delete on the loom connection. Its running fine, but I've always wondered about adding the delkavic headers on. I know if I do though I will have to factor in a new o2 sensor lol. Thanks for the info.

I have and the lack of power between 3-7000 rpm is gone.... it now keeps pulling through the whole range.

Nice SBB, what yr is it? Plus, good upgrades: Delkevic Cans, K&N Filter!! Question: What gear are you launching in (Should be 2nd and RPM's @ 5000 to 6000)!! Also, Rear tyre psi, should be at 20 psi...front tyre 45 psi!! Try those changes next track day... hopefully you get to low 10's..😎. Where did you buy your aftermarket seat, I am looking to upgrade my stock seat to maybe; Corbin, Sargent or DYI cover/foam?

I have owned 4 CBR1100XXs and 3 have had Sargent seat coverings. Still own a 2001 and a 2002 model.

Yep plenty of fun and fear yet to come, seat is stock cause it's light but custom seat cover. 👍

Hi, er startet im 1. Gang. Bei 1:39mln schaltet er in den 2. bei 110kmh. Ich habe das '97 Vergasermodel (offen, 162PS gemessen). Bei 286kmh muß ich in den sechten Gang schalten sonst kommt der Begrenzer. Bin mit Metzler Reifen unterwegs. Grüße aus dem schönen Bremen✌️

Yep, 30th is street series event. Had a gearing change 16 tooth front sproket and 45 rear, also shift light installed so let's see? 👍

@@itchythrottle3304 Sounds good. Please post the full results! I finally got my 2002 silver bird ( US spec) on the road last Sunday. Except for some non-performance additions to it, the bike is all stock ( gearing, exhaust system, air filter). Just for fun I'll be drag racing the bike like this as soon as the weather cools down , maybe come late September.
