This is the ninth video in a series of videos that will feature a step by step process of rebuilding the legendary Honda CBX 1000 6 Cylinder Engine. I will take you through every step from tear down to a finished running and beautifully restored engine.
This video I will show you how I clean the engine cases for a Honda CBX 1000, as well as any make of Motorcycle, & prep them for Paint.
I also show how to remove the Oil Pump so it can be inspected and rebuilt if necessary.

Happy Sunday! Thanks for the upload. I have a stuck cylinder from rust in my #6 from water. It was on compression going down, used rust rinsers and it came free. Went down and back up on exhaust stroke and stuck again. Been using wd40 and rust rinse. Need to rotate by hand. Do I take off clutch cover and try to turn engine over there? I don't want to use the crank nut. Thanks for your time and uploads.

Hi Michael, I would use the crank nut. The clutch isn’t a good way to turn the engine. The crank nut is large and strong and is designed to turn the engine. You may have to knock the piston loose like I had to.

You want those cases to gleam see if there's a Vapour Blasting service near you

Hi Steffano, Yes, vapor blasting is great, but these cases are painted from the factory and I will be painting them again as they were originally.

There is the hole the piece of ally broke out off

I looked everywhere in that engine to find where it broke off from, but there was no place anywhere that I saw. My guess is that it was left in there from the factory somehow. Luckily it was in a spot that it never was able to get circulated inside the critical areas of the engine.
