ha ha ha that was funny when you were showing how far it would throw the snow and you put it way up in the air and the wind was just blowing it back on the drive it reminded me of a saying we have down here but it isn't snow we are talking about. Do you have a de-icer you put down or do you break out the tire chains for your boots lol now for the last question since you neighbors obviously know you have the big Kubota did the call the funny farm on you when they saw you using the Honda on your drive way of course you may not be able to answer that cuz you and Kathy are sharing a rubber room lol great video i think id have to build one of those little 2 wheel trailers like the mowers have and put a heated cab on it and get Kathy a quad copter for the camera so she could film you from inside lol

Hey Paul. I have the older version Craftsman snow blower w/tracks and my left side track stopped moving two days ago when I tried doing our driveway here in PA. You think that's hard to fix and costly? Or maybe not worth fixing? I put it away and got out the tractor and just used the rear blade. *** idea for you to fabricate a drop/broadcast ice melt spreader for your long driveway. I think that be a good project for you. Stay warm- George
@7863348
@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
George A. Woods George those blowers are traditionally easier to repair than the Honda. Pull the lower pan off of it and see if there's a pin of shaft broke. It might be a small repair. If everything else looks good and the engine is good then it's worth repairing for sure. You can keep those blowers going a lifetime. Good idea on the spreader. It hasn't been an issue for us up to this point. Keep well my friend.

I am considering getting this model now that the US is making it available for their 2015/2016 lineup. I like to do the work myself, but sometimes I'm not always home for the action. My question to you, Can my wife handle this machine with the clutch steering hopefully making it easier. There are a lot of unknowns with my question, but what do you think?
@7863348
@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
Jeff H Not a simple question. Too many unknown factures for me to give you an educated answer such as, Is your wife used to operating any kind of equipment? Is she nervous around machenery? Is she aware of all the dangers of using equipment such as a snow blower? She she a tiny woman because if she is she may have trouble using the snow blower. All I can tell you is there's no way my wife would or even want to use ours. Mine won't use a simple lawn mower either and I'm ok with that. Just a simple task of refuelling the machine could result in injury. A snow blower no matter what type can be physically hard to use at the best of times.

My neighbor has one of those and had some problems with it. We had a 2' snowfall and the machine just tended to ride up over the snowpack after a few yards. I wound up blowing out his driveway easily with my unit that has conventional tires and no chains. I thought the track would have worked better.

Hi Paul, I live in Northern Ontario and looks like my about 36 yr old Ariens is on it`s last leg. The engine runs like a top but I`ve had to repair the drive shaft too often. I`m researching for a new snowblower. Are the Hondas really worth the big bucks? Are the tracks reliable?
@7863348
@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
Ron Rivet Ron I've never seen a track failure on a Honda and the only time I see a Honda is for the usual cable breakage, belt change or a bearing once in awhile. Are they worth the money? That's debatable in every way. I've had a Canadian tire blower in the past and had very little trouble with it but it was nowhere as good as this new Honda. The Honda has hydrostatic transmission. Electric start with the key. Smooth running and can blow the snow over to the neighbors house. Good on fuel and has a great resale value. I highly doubt it would last as long as your Ariens. I don't think I've seen a 36 year old Honda lol. Not sure what a new Ariens will cost but this model i have will put you up in the $4000. mark.

I need to see a video of a huge snowfall such that you have a life and death struggle to walk from the house to the shop and then open the door to 5' of snow and have the snow exceed the top of the blower, and slowly plow through 5' of snow. And you have to use the Honda because the Kubota is out of gas.
