Fantastic machine, luv it. For those of us with Cbr1100xx, we kind of view this bike as the new Black bird, all spiffed up now with shaft drive, electronics, single swingers and what-not. It's a beautiful motorcycle.

Keep the Bird, John. It's no match for the Blackbird which is rock steady at 300kph. I had a 97 Bird, stage 1 tuned, for 16 years

@@Grassholm14 me too.I loved CBR XX ! But i change it with this vfr1200 f ! It's more safe..I don't need that speed.I like ABS ,shaft ,style,original side and top cases,injection,comfort etc. Dry roads and healthy !

I had my 04 Bird for 5 years and loved it, fantastic machine. Now I have a vfr 1200 and have to say the brakes and handling are far superior which is no surprise I guess especially as mine has a nitron rear shock. Speed wise, I did 168mph on my Bird in 5th gear! but I’ve had my 1200 to 165mph more or less flat out. I miss my Bird for it’s comfort (I’ve tried 2 vfr seats and can’t get comfy) and it’s smoothness and higher fuel range but I Wouldn’t have another Bird though unless it was the very rare anniversary edition. I’m in love with my VFR. Forget about the bad press, the bike is fantastic and mine sounds great with an Akro on.

Smiles, Before you start insulting people,, read the title. On Autobahn. Unless something else is posted, you can drive as fast you can. The guy drove legal at all times. He allow enough time for the other cars to move and was pretty good at not splitting lanes. So far he did nothing illegal in Germany

do they last? can I do, for ex. 60.000 miles with a vfr 1200 f without engine overhaul?

Thanks for taking the time to post this. It was very helpful. Looking to replace an 2008 FJR. Was kinda hoping that the VFR was a little faster though.

Dieses Video könnte ich mir immer wieder anschauen. IRGENDWANN! Ja, irgendwann gehört mir auch so eine Maschine. Da ich nur Automatik fahren kann, ist die Auswahl nicht arg groß....aber die gefällt mir. Solange lebe ich mit meiner 76PS Aprilia. :-)

Moto-Mika Durch einen Unfall kann ich das mit dem Kuppeln nicht so hinbekommen. Von daher habe ich auch meinen Führerschein auf Automatik gemacht und einen Eintrag auf dem Lappen ;)

In description you emphasize that it's DCT and with sidecases. Does it mean that it would be quicker with manual transmission? Have one more question - do you think it's more capable in corners than R1200GS Adventure ?

Same top speed in manual. DCT is truly amazing through the gears.

Wished I'd been at the road side to hear you go past awesome bike with great sounding exhaust. You get faster as the gas runs out lol stay safe brother nice video. Would you still recommend one even now as they are no longer in production thanks you.

I've read that there is no error on the speedo, using satnav. So 160 is 160....

I can't imagine.... Because to the manufacturers it's by law forbidden if the speedo shows less than real speed. That's why they always let it show more than real speed to be save.

That's 252kmh on the GPS, to get it faster you need a ECU flash by Don Guhl and your bike will runs out of Speedo display says 299 @11600rpm and it runs more smooth without any restrictions in the first the gears.

That's a myth, the guhl flash doesn't get you 300kph. The bike will run 270 gps with tune and limiter removed

Yeah watch out at that speed with panniers. Gets a little unstable. Tucked in and no panniers, rides like a heavier CBR100RR at 165 mph.

268Km/h - 10% Speedo error = 241Km/h = 150 mp/h. Bike is restricted to 155mp/h so with luggage that's about right.

The speedo error is the stock standard Honda error of 7%. Same as the Blackbird.

+Bas Heijermans it was not my bike, it was just a test ride and it had sidecases on it. so without sidecases i think it will do about 285 or 290 at the speedometer

Open flashed it does 270gps so unfortunately nowhere near 300

@@firebladeflow GPS is not a good measurement. It's often wrong, wrong a lot. When the limiter is removed it should go 300 or over. I never tested as the suitcases make it unstable at 250.

@@BasHeijermans whatever you are smoking, do less of that. Gps is the single most precise measurement method in existence. Do some research and come back. If YOUR gps is wrong buy a better one. I'm running a 5hz gps which is as accurate as it gets. And no it simply does not go 300. I've tried yesterday with 102 octane fuel. It just doesn't. Not even close. It goes 270 let it be 280 with tailwind and downhill, but it will just not reach 300 without touching engine internals.

@@firebladeflow Really? Ocatane has to do with self-combustion during compression, the higer the octaine the more compression it can take. Sorry sir, you have no clue wat octain is all about. Yours isn't flashed with limits removed else it would go over 300. It seems your limiter is still in place.

tja, kommt auf den Fahrstil an :D Oder was und wie man halt fährt. Für Touren und etwas gediegenere Fahrweise ist natürlich die VFR gemacht.

Ich hab jetzt auch zwei Bikes. Die CBR1100XX für die Straße und meine gute alte CBR600F werde ich für die Rennstrecke umbauen :)

@@MotoMika also ich habe ne sc59 blade von 2009 für die Rennstrecke. Mopped macht dort natürlich am meisten spaß. Hat aber auch auf der LS prima funktioniert. Für größere touren gibt's bequemere, geht aber auch da mit etwas Leidensfähigkeit.

gelitten hab ich mit meiner CBR600F auch schon auf langen Touren :D 15 Stunden nach Barcelona, 17 Stunden nach Frankreich.....
