Everyone was surprised they even got the old westwood staff back together, the only complaint i had was they didnt redo the old cgi

@@B2.Benedajenzo The original master tapes were unfortunately lost to time, and they don't have the budget to do new CGI cutscenes. Even if they did have the budget, they'll clash with the CGI in the live action cutscenes. AI upscaling was the best they could do with what they have.

Yes, first game with control groups, i loved that feature. In Warcraft you could group 4 Units together, but not save them.

Oh, I remember stealing the AI's buildings with sneaky engineers in original Command and Conquer, only to immediately sell them. I remember you could also trick the computer in the single player missions if you put a line of sand bags up far enough away from your buildings.

Great music, as expected; I'd never see Frank Klepacki providing nothing less. Having him as a classmate in Jr. High and HS, we knew him even then as being a musical genius and innovator, and his body of works speaks to it so well.

Never even played the original, we discovered Red Alert/Aftermath first and never looked back. We barely even bothered with the missions, just straight to skirmishes against the cpu or friends on dial up MODEMS. Which was amazing at the time.

I'll always be glad a mate lent me that when I very late in PS life, got a PSone....Played like 3 games and SR was one....without that lend, no LoK knowledge or Kain tattoo on my back lol Strangely though, even tho I bought BO not long later, could never bring myself to play it until I was totally outta options cos its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW....Srsly, first time I completed it was a DL'd PC copy lol... It's hard to believe that enough people musta liked BO back then to even make SR, BO2 etc a thing ;o That said, still have my psx versions of both SR and BO. No memory card, lost it ;p

Yeah I refunded it on steam. I played all the originals and was a huge fan. It just hasn't aged well and plays really clunky

I think it aged well. Music is perfect, mission design is fine and parts are really challenging. But the size is not that high for a single game. But: it was that way. And only costs 20. And you get the extra missions. So overall it is still good and I would rate maybe 6 to 7 (and 9 including nostalgia)

Was the first PC game I've ever played on my very first own PC - I needed whole 6 weeks to complete the GDI campaign (damn, until I figured out you can mark more then one unit! Took me 2 weeks!) and my wrist hurt so much, but I did it!

fun fact, not sure if they patched it in the remastered but.... The AI had a bug were they regarded sandbags as completely arbitrary and wouldnt bother attacking them at all, so players would build huge walls box the Ai in and they would just sit there doing nothing lmfao
