Most Latinos actually find her kind of insulting. She’s considered a sell-out to the American cash machine because of her shamelessness in ripping off better singers. Many Latinos felt antagonized that such a fake was their “representation”… when there’s so many talented/passionate singers within the community who never received any attention. Basically, you had to be a white-washed puppet to be accepted by the music industry. Luckily the black American community has a long rich musical history.. so they where mostly spared from this.

Fiat tried desperately to accommodate her, pushed the filming back by months to try and allow JLO time to travel to her home town.
