I grew up with this great Canadian band. Some of their hits are "American Woman", "Laughing" "No Time", "Undun", "Hand Me Down World", "Share The Land", "Bus Driver", "Star Baby", "Albert Flasher", "Rain Dance" etc. Burton Cummings has one of the best voices out there. Randy Bachman later left to form (BTO) Bachman Turner Overdrive & had many hits. And Burton Cummings had a great solo career with lots of great songs.

If you are fellow Canadians then age is no excuse to not know our musical legends from every era. The amazing voice of Burton Cummings with The Guess Who (they headlined Woodstock) or in his solo voice is some of the best our great country has to offer. I was lucky enough to see Burton play during a medal ceremony at the Vancouver Olympics and he still sounded great. Hopefully you know our other legends like Joni Mitchell & Gordon Lightfoot. They may be before my time but music has no age and artists like these will live forever.

The Guess Who were the number one band in Canada for many years. And Burton Cummings went on to a successful solo career after. Randy Bachman, their guitarist went on to form BTO (Bachman Turner Overdrive) which was another top band in Canada for many years. Guess Who had hits with American Woman, Undun, Laughing, Albert Flasher, These eyes, No Time, No sugar Tonight, Star Baby, Dancing Fool...and Clap for the Wolfman. Burton Cummings had radio hits with "I'm Scared, Stand Tall, Fine state of affairs, My Own Way to Rock. BTO went on to have radio hits with "Taking Care of Business, Let it Ride, Roll on Down the Highway, Give Me your Money Please. You Aint seen Nothing Yet, Hey You, Blue Collar, Rock Is My Life, and Looking Out for number One. So...a lot of talent in that band!

Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman---what a combination!!! Amazing just how many of the oldies used horns, strings and woodwinds in their songs instead of just a bass, a guitar, piano and drums. One of the best to ever come out of Canada. All 11 albums they made charted here in Canada. Seen them live more times than I know, great band. The list of hits is huge. 'No Time', 'Laughing', 'Undun', 'Bus Rider', 'American Woman' and Share The Land' to name but a few of the over 2 dozen hits from my Spotify list. Burton Cummings has given up all his royalties in his fight with the current band using the 'Guess Who' name which often performs with zero original members.

I was one of those people that were around when this song came out...lol... I was 13 when this song came out and I did like the song a lot, but at that time I was more into the Beatles and the Monkeys and my favorite new group at that time was Gary Puckett and The Union Gap... I got one of their 45 RPM records just the year before this song came out... It was lady It was Lady Willpower and I think I pretty much wore that one out by playing it so much... Anyway, I really liked Burton Cummings and the Guess Who... Burton Cummings had one of the best voices in rock and roll in my opinion... Great reaction guys... See you on the next one... This was their first hit. This Canadian group's early hit Undun was surprisingly jazzy, but their later hits like No Time, American Woman, and the medley No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature were definitely rockers. Burton Cummings had some solo hits and Randy Bachman had very big hits when he put together Bachman-Turner Overdrive (Takin' Care of Business, Let It Ride, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet). I was a baby when it was released, but I’ve heard this all of my life. Such a great band, and I love this song, as well.
