I asked the Train Manager on the train I was on. He said most of the HST's will go to Scotland to be replaced by the new Hitachi, so they have only repainted a few of the old HST's. I like the new colour and will be disappointed when they are replaced by the Hitachi.

Hi JB, Excellent Video there, and I love these models, I got mine yesterday in Cardiff, saw it in a display cabinet and couldn't resist it! They do go very well with the blue FGW coaches. Love your little layout too it looks so realistic! Stuart :-)

I can confirm that the FGW power cars do have a purple roof when they came from C6. The roofs always look black as the roof does not get cleaned so the dirt just builds up

T M indeed, they also often sport those square silver engine panels on the roof too, which I believe get the soot covering them during service. Often seen shiny roof on power cars with the blue paint peeking through at Cardiff and recently Taunton.
