actually for anyone wondering (although i doubt anyone will see this comment) on hood that middle deck space is used for a few things if you look at the cut aways, for example on the upper deck (the deck that has the torpedo mounts) that middle space is used to house, the police office, master at arms, ships cooks mess, and a few other rooms. on the main deck it houses the blacksmiths shop, general store, engineers store ect.

I love my Hood, though I have a slightly different playstyle. Instead of the AA Mod 1, I prefer the Aiming modification, and instead of the survivability mod in slot 4, I like the rudder shift upgrade. Makes dancing around tor-pedos a breeze as well as trolling enemy battleships.

yuro doesn't realize that due to modification in the inter war period which included adding more armor to make her more like a fast battleship. she was so heavy that she was low in the water. due to that any more addition would have caused more decks to be awash with water

The reason why the Hood is so big cause it was a battle-cruiser designed for speed that extra size meant more room for boilers and engines. In 1920 she was capable of making 32 Knots which was impressive as most battleship designs of the era were still in the low to mid 20 knots. By 1940 she was definitely obsolete her combination of age and increasingly overburden by refits cause her max speed to be reduced to 30 knots and there were true battleships being built or on the drawing boards that were easily capable of matching her speed or surpassing it yet were far better protected also this was the time frame when naval aerial technology was starting to reach the point where aircraft carriers could become a serious threat to traditional capital ships.

From what I understand the British rocket defenses on ships actually used the rockets to lift cables up in the path of a plane trying to fly over the ship, kinda like what barrage balloons were supposed to do. That seems like it would be really effective, I mean, if the plane catches any of those cables it's going to take serious damage if not being destroyed outright.
