This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I teach high school English and show the riot scene when my students read “Animal Farm,” and we use it to analyze mob mentality. Introducing the younger generation to this movie is one of the most important parts of my job!

This movie is so good. Definitely a little ahead of its time and had so many (now) amazing comedic actors cutting their teeth. 5/5 for me personally.

It’s crazy because I had no idea who Samberg was until I watched this channel. I don’t watch a lot of movies, and “parody rap” honestly pisses me off, but I’ve been a stan of his wife since she started making music when I was in high school. Hell I just paid $500 to fly to see her for one hour.

@@Randomjackass135 he’s married to Joanna Newsom right? She’s excellent. Samberg has made some great stuff with the Lonely Island too. Their parody rap is maybe the only exception for me lol. Hot Rod is a classic though.

Yeah, he's married to Joanna Newsom; they're part of my theoretically favorite celebrity double couple with Paul Thomas Anderson and Maya Rudolph. There's so much overlap between those four people that I cannot wait for Andy Samberg to show up in a PTA movie. Popstar Never Stop Never Stopping involves a lot of the same people as Hot Rod and it may be even better. Not quite as Wet Hot American Summer-y as Hot Rod. More conventional but also probably more consistently funny.

Also I’m from the indie sleaze era so she was like idk Clairo for us. And Lonely Island is insanely normie. No disrespect. Again, I think it’s a black thing.

This movie is such a classic to me. I couldn’t count the number of times this was playing in the background at our high school parties or the numerous times of falling asleep with this movie on. As a now 28 year old, this movie really shaped my high school years.

The parking lot dance scene is awesome when Rico is pushing Kevin into the side of the van. And I love Kevin’s quote when he says “I party, I’m Rod” and Rod says “no you’re Kevin” and Kevin’s like “oh yeah you’re right, Kevin. I like to party”

Loved this movie. I hadnt even heard of it and came accros it by accident. It made me aware of Andy Samberg. Obviously he was more known in the states but as a Scotsman it was the first thing I seen him in. Watching it stoned helped 😂
