@@obdiane this is why the Targaryens had a history of marrying each other! The power they had was too alluring to other houses, and they were afraid of being destroyed by outsiders. And they were right! The Hightower marriage caused the death of dragons and a near total destruction of their house.

I think the bigger issue is that House Targaryen never established a true precedence for the succession. The Conqueror ruled with his sister-wives, often leaving the day-to-day governance to them. His eldest son Aenys inherited, yet his younger son Maegor claimed the crown ahead of his nephews and nieces - and named his eldest nephew and niece's daughter as heir, when he failed to father children. When Maegor died, by Westerosi custom, it should have been the girl named as Maegor's heir that inherited, but instead her uncle was crowned. Was that because girls cannot inherited, or because her father was never fully formally crowned before his uncle killed him, meaning his younger brother should inherit rightfully? Or was it just pragmatic politics, putting a strong, charismatic young man on the throne after the chaos of Maegor's reign, rather than a mere child? Or should it even have been the first born child, Rhaena, who inherited, regardless of gender, since Aegon ruled with his sister-wives? Jaehaerys was crowned, and his first-born was a daughter, whom his wife Queen Alysanne reported considered their heir - Jaehaerys said that since she would marry her younger brother Aemon, they would rule together, so it wouldn't matter. Daenerys died, Aemon became heir and sired only a daughter, Rhaenys, whom Queen Alysanne considered their queen-to-be, yet Jaehaerys named his second son Baelon as his heir and Hand. And yet, when Baelon died before Jaehaerys, the king did not say "his son Viserys will be king after me, because only men may inherit"; instead he called a Great Council, another new way to determine an heir. Was this to establish a precedence, or merely to pick between two candidates? It is not stated that the lords were asked to vote on the future succession, so it's up to interpretation. In House of The Dragon, Viserys names an heir, against Westerosi customs, just as Jaehaerys named Baelon, and as Jaehaerys was crowned ahead of his older brother's daughter Aerea. Viserys had the perfect opportunity to establish the precedence that the king or queen names the heir in the royal line - or leaves the decision to a Council, if he or she so choses. Or he could seek to establish a new custom of succession, were the eldest inherits regardless of gender; but he horribly failed to attempt that, against a society where many of his lords would not be in power if such a custom applied to them. But Viserys failed to have a vision for the future, ironically despite being a Dreamer. Jaehaerys, for all that he is celebrated, failed to fully commit to settle the succession once and for all. House Targaryen failed itself, and the threat could just as easily have come from within.

Some people are blinded by the team factions - Cole took down multiple castles, tripled the size of his army, lured the Blacks into a trap and subsequently killed one of their best dragons and experienced rider. He may be a terrible guy but Cole is proving to be a very capable commander and warrior. Even the way he used Aegon's unexpected arrival to boost the spirits of his army, great move.

I mean, if Rhaenyra didn't send anyone to defend the house that swore fealty to her, no one will be on her side. She had to send someone, but she couldn't go herself and can't go with rhaenys because who would defend Dragonstone if someone showed up? Sending Rhaenys was smart because her dragon is the fastest dragon alive, and Rhaenys could have escaped easily if she need it to,hate to say it but rheanys was stupid in her decision, she could of escaped 2 times

Id be lying if I said I've never cried over some cgi dragons, but the dragons aren't innocent in this. They consent to serving their riders. Dragons aren't lap dogs.. they are viscious beasts and dragons gonna dragon lol but yeah, it's still hard to watch this family of humans and this family of dragons fight each other. I'm here for it though 😂

Your english was great, but I would say Aegon has had the opportunity to learn he just gets bored when the council is actually talking about stuff. He just doesn’t care about politics which unfortunately is the most important part of being a king. He doesn’t put forth the effort to want to learn and so they don’t bother trying with him

@@BigBroLilSis True but he was willing to learn and rule at the beginning, episode 1 of the season he had good and bad ideas but the council shut him down regardless. And now you're right, he's bored and won't learn but I see it as a consequence of the council's choice to ignore him and take all the decisions. And now everytime he takes a decision it's outside the council, the ratcatchers, Arryk suicide mission and now going to this battle, I think it's very telling. All these ideas were good ideas but poorly executed due to a lack of trust that could have been avoided. Aegon was not gonna be the best king but he could have done a good job if he was considered.
