The grandmaesters are definitely killing the royal family, one by one. They sliced up the queen in a way that would guarantee her death, they were the first to handle the baby that died, they rejected the young maesters proposal of herbs and poultice for the leeches that ain't working, and this is the same young maester who suggested Quarterizing the wound on Viserys back instead of more leeches (hes the only one trying to actually heal the King). The maesters are defo working with Hightower to get the Targyrens replaced with a new bloodline.

I don't get why people blame Rhaenyra for Ser Cole's actions. She was a drunk teenager having her first time with her crush. She's not Cersi. She had no clue. He was a grown-ass SOBER man who made his own decision. He could have called for the king's guard. He even said so. So, Ser Cole, you're afraid to turn her down bc she could have you killed, so you f**k her instead? Make it make sense! That whole "look what you made me do", and "it's all your fault" bullshit is how men escape accountability for their own actions and usually, violence against the woman comes after ( I say 'men' bc women get called out for it all the time. I mean, folks are blaming her for his behavior.) She turned you down, so you kill somebody at her wedding feast? That's unstable. She didn't MAKE him unstable by having sex with him ONE time, he was ALREADY unstable before it happened. This situation just showed how unstable he is. He's obsessed with her and that's very dangerous. The fact that people are blaming Rhaenyra, and excusing him shows how much we are used to this type of dysfunctional behavior in men. Rhaenyra can't have anything good. She always ends up broken hearted. Alicent always steals her joy.

Not only is she wearing green, both her sons are also wearing green. It's funny cause they talk a lot about Aegon being the "true rightful heir", the legitmate son, but he wears his mother's colors, not Viserys.

Alicent wearing the green dress meant that she started playing the game. That's why she called Rhaenyra "stepdaughter". The episode is called "We Light The Way" which is the motto of House Hightower. Milly Alcock and Emily Carey did amazing jobs in bringing the characters to life. They pass the baton to the older actresses, Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke, who will begin from episode 6. The wedding was supposed to last 7 days but after the altercation Viserys had a shotgun wedding before there were shotguns. When Ser Criston mentioned gelding he meant having his balls cut off. As far as the episode 6 trailer, it's not about the color of Rhaenyra's children's skin, it's the color of their hair that is the issue. I won't spoil you as to who the suspected father is but it's not who you think.

I love watching y’all react to this show, it’s always entertaining!! 😂 And it wouldn’t be HotD without someone (mostly Daemon) killing folks, and I’ve come to the conclusion that he could snap his fingers and someone in The Reach would drop dead. Now that he’s a “widower”, Daemon is out on the prowl and showing up at the wedding he wasn’t invited to, giving the sexy eyes to Laena AND Rhaenyra in a whole ass 5 minute span.

What I thought about after the episode is how seriously Alicent might have taken the swearing on her mother's memory thing given how religious she is and how often she prays to her own mother. And, just as in Game of Thrones with Shae, Criston Cole took the rich kid complaining about their rich kid problems as a plea for change and not just whining. Bit him in the ass. I don't think y'all shoulda watched the preview this go round but also I think you should watch it again lol. Them kids ain't look no kinda ethnic but they gave you everything in that lol. I'm kinda mad at it.

When Rheya says "I knew you couldn't finish" it's apparently cause Daemon can't get it up unless he has the power in the situation. Man is just sick in the mind through and through.

He wasn't duped out of his virtue. He choose to sleep with her expecting more as if it was a fairy tale. There was so many times when he could have said no and leave the room if his honor was so important. Now, he is lashing out for a decision he made. Rhaenyra is no angel but he is the worst.

To be fair....Sir Crispen Cole had PLENTY of time to stop their rendezvous while taking all that armor off. Forget not being able to say no to the princesses. He could have guilted her into backing down and denied more of her advances.

It's a shame this was the last episode for the actresses playing young alicent and rhaenyra. But now the green wedding takes it's place in GOT infamy.

And I also think Criston took what Joffrey said as a threat. Like you keep our secret, we'll keep yours. If our secret gets out, yours will too. Joffrey seemed super messy.

The ending montage was my favorite scene so far. Give me the aesthetics of the red hue of the weirdwood tree glowing in twilight, give me the flickering lights, give me the gloomy ambience of a GoT wedding with an equally gloomy soundtrack & hook it to my veins! The slightly overlooked heartfelt exchange Otto & Alicent had at the beginning was the most significant moment of the episode imo. Otto’s not wrong. You either hope for Rhaenyra’s mercy in the future or you act now. It's the Tywin Jaime "we can establish a dynasty that last a thousand years" moment for the show. The wedding sets up the first chess pieces for Dance of Dragons. *Rhaenyra and Laenor were being told their wedding vows, but it was Alicent and Criston who were getting “married”.*

So remember how Rhaenyra was looking like eminem with the beanie? Now Cole says: If there was another path one that lead to freedom... would you choose. I couldn’t help but think of lose yourself If you had one shot, or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted One moment Would you capture it or just let it slip?

I think Sir Crispin was crazy for even asking lol her dad is clearly sick she looked concerned for him on the boat. And she wasn't gonna give up her duties no matter how much she complains. Let her vent lol. And Ms. Alicent has to be real why the hell would she tell her anything forreal after she got with her dad. I wouldn't.

Rhaenyra and Laenor's children wouldn't necessarily have a brown skin color, since Laenor is half white, so the babies are 75 percent white. It's funny that all of Aliecent and King Visery's children have blonde hair. While all of Rhaeyra's have brown. It's funny that all the children are taking the father's hair color. Not one child of either woman has her hair color. lol!

Yeah Alicent told Viserys “Rhaenyra swore to me she remains a maiden and I believe her.” That whole convo she probably figured that Rhaenyra would have known what the issue was (her not being a maiden anymore) and would have clarified if it wasn’t Daemon but was someone else. She seems to have taken that convo to mean Rhaenyra was confirming that she was still a virgin. So I think she feels SUPER betrayed to realize Rhaenyra talked around it & lied by omission, basically.

I’m just glad we finally get to see Laena and Vhagar next week. Legends!

I don't believe Rhaenyra was mainly to blame for what happened between her and Ser Criston. BOTH were to blame. Ser Criston was old enough to realize that having sex with Rhaenyra would lead to him breaking his Kingsguard oath. Nor do I believe he thought if he had resisted her, she would have made life difficult for him. Judging from the look on his face during their tryst, the only expressions I noticed were lust and indecision. I also found it disturbing that Ser Criston's main reason for proposing marriage to Rhaenyra was to ease his guilt for having sex with her in the first place.

I think too many people sympathize with Criston and excuse his behavior. He even said it to Alicent, while the Princess instigated the affairs he went among with it even if he didn’t have to. He could’ve risked making her mad at him and kept his “honor” if he felt THAT strongly about it. Jon Snow broke his oath when he was with Ygritte, whom also instigated the relationship, but he never turned his back on protecting the realm when it came to his Night Watch’s duties. Cole betrayes Rhaenyra here to the Queen and he’ll continue to betray her going forward and betray his oath to the King all because she refused to abandon her duties to run away with him. I can understand that he might have a strong moral code but some people take it too far and do terrible things in the name of morality. Look at the faith militant in Game of Thrones. Cole was willing to kill himself over his warped sense of morality and Alicent stops him. She’ll probably play to his ego and tell him that he’s not at fault and Rhaenyra is but he can atone by doing her bidding and helping Aegon ascend instead.

This shit is wild. Intense looks and stares around the room double meanings. Shit is tough. What’s unfair is Laenor loses someone who is very important to him and Rhaenyra does not. Even so she would choose her uncle before she chooses Christian Cole because of status a high house suitor. I really real for Cole he got his broken but buy doing doing this The only person who knows when her secret is Cole Laenor herself and Alicent where as The people who know about Laenors secret are his mother his father Cole Rhaenyra himself and probably soon to be Alicent and we all know if the queen finds out she is definitely going to use it against Rhaenyra in some way..

You were right in saying he feels he was dupped into the affair situation with the Princess. I think what started the fight is, he is clinging to hope that he can somehow restore some of his dignity and now here is some man he doesn't know telling him he has to keep these secrets and continue on as the Princess's side thing for all their good. His disgust with himself is already tremendous and this is just the last straw with everyone seemingly having control over his life and him with none and they all want him to go in a direction that completely devalues everything he believes in. I would also point out that the moment things go to hell , Daemon just vanishes...making no attempt to protect Rhaenyras. SIr Criston's values and bent toward duty and honor are why I think Allicent stopped him in the end because she sees him as one of the only people who tries to be a straight arrow, like herself. Although Allicent's Father was a snake in the grass himself, she is now seeing that he was right about the immediate future and that she is going to have to do everything she can to protect her children. It's not always the people who sit the throne you must worry about, it "all" the people that talk into their ear, spouses, lovers, Hands, anyone that has the opportunity to speak in the range of your hearing can potentially drop any number of suspicions.We've grown used to these two actresses playing Rhaenyra and Allicent, I only hope the next two don't throw these characters off the rails.

The 'Lannisters' hair is indeed 'BLONDE' but the Targaryen hair was actually WHITE or SILVER in appearance. Her kids are actually 'Strong's'. The show is following GRRM's books in that regard. Though Leanor, even though his is GAY, will never state that HER kids are NOT his, dark haired and all... it will always be a _'sticking point'_ for Queen Alicent! @30:15, back in the day during these times IRL, matters of honor (aka your good name) were sacred. To step to a known knight and question his honor and virtue would be a bad move. To question these things and you don’t even know the knight…well we see the results. Lots of lives and limbs got lost because someone made a sly diss…especially in front of other people. The late Ser Joffrey should have at least learned something of the Ser Criston’s character or personality before he started gossiping. I think he seriously misjudged ole boy’s resolve.
