Hi Chris ...another heart on your sleeve vlog mate. I could hear in your voice mate how much your company means to you. Having a good, positive and real team around makes the difference to what can be a nightmare day into a challenging one with your team around you ! Having specialists around you especially with finance and estimating makes a huge difference as do having boots on the ground who are skilled and proud of their work / finish. We use Buildertrend mate, it’s expensive but very detailed. We use Jobber in our heating business

As a Scouser I'm made up you like Liverpool. Obviously you made a mistake suggesting Man U were the best team in the world 😂. London used to be a great city and l spent a lot of time there as my son used to live there. In recent times however a very small person has destroyed it. Student cities in the north. Leeds would be a good one for hmo second year students lot of poor accommodation at the moment . London would be extremely expensive and lots of problems getting the right people and ulez expansion makes it even more affordable

In question to outsourcing, does your company charge for quotes ? For example you out source and the estimator wants a fee of £250 surely the client should pay the fee as businesses may not win the project

@@Every_Trade I’ve been doing it for about 4 years now most don’t quibble about it and see the value etc and add to that we refund the fee if they decide to use us a nominated contractor, the customers driven by price moan, but for us as a business it’s unfair a surveyor or engineer who gets paid generously to do a site visit when they have no idea on estimating or quants but we as contractors are expected to give up our time for free so far works well most of the clients we get are clients we wanna work with and vice versa
