My company recently went through a situation where one of our partners pulled out for no reason costing us 90% of our income and this just after we expanded increasing our overheads by 800%. My team is so amazing that when the option came to either leave with the partner or stay with me, they stayed with me. They then used the criticism and bad treatment from the ex-partner to fuel us up and EVERYBODY pulled together to bring in sales. As soon as all our sales execute, we’ll be x10 what we were before they left. Criticism can be used as fuel to reach a dream.

You said it right Soul. When you listen to a music if it doesn’t feed your soul you move on to the next song. In my country we address people as soul(s) we say one soul. That’s why when people’s souls die they are only dead body’s walking on this physical planet. You need to feed your Soul just as you feed your physical body. No body talks about soul we talk about physical body nourishment, financial but rarely about our Souls

Loving this. It's a great way to handle criticism. What works for you may not work for others. It's not about forcing things on others but about sharing views to make things better. 👍🙏

Absolutely. This is the view point I subscribe to. You need to know to pick your battles and also walk away. Fine balance, but its a clear choice after all.

I agree with you 💯on this Simon. It’s great to share our thoughts, wisdoms and ideas with others and to be on the receiving end as well. At the end of the day, however, we all come to the table with our own life experiences, thoughts, ideas and values and sometimes they jive with what others are saying and sometimes they don’t. We are not for everyone and everyone is not for us and by recognizing and accepting that we can all live much healthier, happier and more balanced lives. ✨ No one particular person is right or wrong. It all comes down to how we choose to interpret, perceive and process what is being communicated to us. By actively listening and then choosing to further engage in a meaningful conversation with one another from a nonreactive and respectful place we can actually learn a lot about ourselves and others as well.💛 What we all have to say matters and has value whether others agree with it or not. 💛 Great clip Simon and reminder that by keeping an open mind we can continue to all learn and grow separately and at the same time together.💪

I'm never a fan of mentors or the big entreprenuer spokes person. With my experiences with charities and with companies and how they differ. Simon said that companies can have an aim above just making money. That resonated with me because I thought companies were just entities to make "number go big" at the bottom of a spreadsheet. They can be something more than just money. I read his books on Why, Leadership and the infinite game which was another paradigm shift. With the different views of people, not everyone would jump on board of these concepts. He's right in conserving his energy by not trying to convert the unconvertable, there's a much better way of saying this.

@@djoakeydoakey1076 I would agree. We have no control with what people think of our thoughts, ideas, insight or opinions. All we can do is speak our truth and if it resonates with someone else great and if it doesn’t that’s ok as well. If we all respectfully listen and take what we feel benefits us and leave the rest for someone else that seems like a win-win to me.💛 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love to be able to continue to learn and grow through my reflections on the wisdom and insight that others share in the comments.💛 Have a great day.😊

I was hired into a finance department to challenge project managers on their results. i was told by a finance team member when they left that prior to my arrival people would come to the finance team and talk casually with them prior to me joining. I said “that was the reason I was hired”, finance was a light touch previously.

how to i handle it ? i absolutely Value it.. i love critique. i ask for it, i even almost demand it by making it openly known that i love contructive critique.. i learned the most from my greatest foes.. and i value their opinion.. (you need ofc the ability to differentiate between just unloading at you, and critique)

Criticism is subjective and so is the way you respond to criticism. One person may agree with you while another person will say you're too much of this or not enough of that. That may be the criticism from only one person but it's up to you if you take his advice and change those areas or if you do nothing because that's the only criticism you've received.

I learned there are two types of criticisms. 'Constructive', and Destructive. Learn and grow from Constructive, and ignore Destructive. Constructive = You're not passing the ball enough to get your open teammates a chance to score. Destructive = You're a BALL HOG! and you're SELFISH!

That's a very good response. A good response would have been "look here sir, that's my opinion and that's what you're here for, you don't need to apply it There's no need for that kind of attitude, and if you're coming with such attitude, then my suggestion is for you to go, we're here to share opinions, this shows me that you are disrespecting me but most of all you're disrespecting yourself, so please act like a professional".

Personally, I dont think criticism helps me. I rather get feedback. I know I have flaws but criticism is wrong to me. Feedback is helpful and tells me what i can do better. Criticism complains and whines. Hope you understand and agree to that. Criticism may be good for you and others but not for me. EX: if you drop 49 points, 20 boards, 13 assists, 4 steals, and get 4 blocks on 20-21 shooting but someone doesnt try to appreciate your performance because they point out I had 1 missed shot, I find that nitpicking. Another example is when you get a 99 percent on your test if your parents criticize your test score and get nitpicky because they wanted a 100 and cant praise your test score. I dont buy into constructive criticism because criticism complains, nitpicks, whines, and argues. I use feedback and only give it when someone wants to hear it. I dont really listen to criticism because it doesnt help me and I have the right to stand buy it. Feedback explains. Criticism complains.
