How do you lead up the chain of commad? Lead from love and respect and humble yourself to the fact that you'll always be on the move and you have all the support in the world. Always ask questions and know that it's ok that you don't know everything, sometimes the answer is a referral to someone else. Lastly, outsource your ownership in time of overload. Again, use your support. This is vital. Another way though is to be a machine, well greased, &know your worth.

I’m an orange personality type so naturally take initiative, anticipate, forecast then offer solutions. For me it’s easier more natural. Be competent and know what you’re recommending. Don’t wait for things to come to you, get ahead and be part of planning effort from beginning.

I see "Whoah apps" or whatever decided to delete his comment cause he got called out on upvoting his own weak shit. Like I said: Jocko told you clearly how to manage up and what to do/not to do. As to your comment about the civilian world, son, I've had jobs in BOTH worlds and it applies to BOTH civilian and military employment scenarios. If you don't see it working, it is because you do not have the trust he mentioned 1,000 times that is a pre-req for this to succeed. Listen to the man, he's been there, done that. He's a little younger than I am, and has been around. He understands how leadership works, up, down, laterally, etc. He isn't going to give you bogus advice.

The thing I deal with in my industry is that we do have traditions of failure, because it’s become more profitable to just grift and rob the customer. Every time I try to do better I get in trouble. Better to just let things fail and descend into crisis, because then we can charge more.

I thought Joe Rogan said this. We need Trump 2020 and Trump Junior 2024 if we want to keep 1st and 2nd amendments. BUT a tulusi / jocko ticket is the only one that can beat the Trump dynasty!!!

Great advice BUT your concept off taking 100% ownership only works in a realitivly moral society. I divorce court every single event where you sacrificed your career, happiness, health, wealth for your wife and kids will be used against you because they will take your positive words and actions as admitting to the things you really did not want. Like the million dollar mortgage debt or the $95 new volvo hybrid etc etc
