How does the Emergency shut down system work?
The ESD system is to automatically isolate all emergency related systems on board our LNG Carrier into a safe state in case of an emergency. The ESD is capable of being manually or automatically initiated responding to the ESD conditions by shutting down cargo transfer and isolating cargo tanks in a surge-free way.
This system is designed to meet the fail safe requirements.
There are various emergency cases and these are as follows:
Fire on board, Unsafe of Cargo Tank (Extremely High) and the Manual Shutdown.
On this video we are demonstrating the Fiber Optic and Pneumatic ESD system the Electrical was not demonstrated.

@@AnkitKumar-up1jr hi Yes of course the warm esd test is when the cargo manifolds have not yet been cooled down.The cold esd test is when the manifolds and the associated pipings have been cooled down with liquid LNG.There is also the cold stroke test which is basically to see that the ESD valves are operating whilst they are cold.

hello Nick, I understand these are KM ESD systems onboard. Just wanted to know what is the pneumatic bypass wrong position indicator and electric wrong position indicator? When does it light?

Nice manifold area that show high standard implemented on board;i wonder to know how old have this lady?. Question : if this test is conducted simultaneous for all valves witch valve you will calculate timing less than 30s because all valves will close at the same time ?

Hello Abdul no this is another type of ESD system and I have came across with system as primary but mostly as back up.

Well we perform the within 48 hours prior cargo operations (loading-unloading).

No matter, mr Nick, I think this is Westad butterfly valve supplied with somewhat modified Scana quater-turn actuator. My business is training of tanker personnel, so can your videos be used as an educational stuff?
