How easy is it to move a boiler? Moving a boiler from one position to another
See how moving this Worcester Bosch boiler is done from moving a boiler flue, moving the boiler pipework, relocating the electrics and rewiring the salus controls.
The boiler location originally was preventing maintenance of the boiler and the magnetic system filter and inaccessible for service.
Normally a job like this should be straight forward enough but on this one we had
problems
This is part 1 of 2 so make sure you subscribe for part 2 this Sunday
Subscription Goal 1530/2000
Thanks you all again for your support, see you on the next one 🫡

Neat job👍 I'm not GSR, I work in maintenance for a hotel chain. Called out to blocked toilet. Convinced myself blockage was in a horizontal run near the pan. Took the pan out (pan connector went 90° left) No blockage. Decided blockage was in another room. Gave up, called the jettting lads, plugged pan connector with a towel as now cheesed off/knackered. Went home. Called out again to massive flood of s..t. Blockage on floor below had held then gallons of sewage from above had forced my towel out. Probably could all have been done better, but these things happen 😅

I moved a boiler for a builder once for an extension he was building...it didn't end well so I'll never do it again. The flue was rotten in the wall, the jig was bent and twisted, and the formed elbows needed replacing....by the time I'd finished it would have been easier to fit new

I'm a DIYer. The pipework at the start looked a complete mess and credit to you for doing a neat job. I just wondered why you fitted the pipework through some flooring. Wouldn't it have been easier to pipe-up first and box in after? Especially based upon the untidy previous work. I refitted our bathroom in 97 with yorkshire joints and a heat gun. Push fit was unproven and expensive back then. It was a steep learning curve with lots of frustration!

Yep, I agree with the other comments, we all get the bad days, but an excellent neat job. You could try a bit of Hardybacker board for your soldering, it works a treat and you can cut bits to fit into all those dodgy areas, no heat goes through it.

@cerealkiller4248
@cerealkiller4248 7 ай бұрын
Beat me to it. It takes up zero space on the van and is 100% effective. I also use Yorkshire fittings on everything I can, it cuts down time with the heat, as soon as it’s ready the solder runs, no more time required ( extra 10 secs to add solder and wipe I know, but sometimes crucial in tricky areas ) to keep the temp in the joint up. I’m a commercial guy, getting Mrs Smiths heating back on isn’t a priority for me. I’m domestic/commercial registered, but avoid houses as best as I can, usually it’s a domestic boiler as part of a commercial property, ie a caretakers house in a school etc. You seem to want to do a 💯great job, ignore this install, it won’t define you. Rushing against the clock is always a recipe for disaster 😢

We all recognise when we have a bad day but establishing what the cause was, to prevent it happening again is the most important thing. I will raise my head above the parapet and expect to be flamed and say this, you could help yourself by spending more time on the planning aspect - even to the point of writing a list of the ‘order of battle’ and when it comes to pipework concentrating on completing each home run rather than hopping from one run to another. But at the end of the day we all make mistakes - the man who never made a mistake never made anything.👍

If soldering is a dying art then what I was taught with he Gas board must be an antique art. Doing rolled and wiped joints with lead, that really does take skill to get it right, not to mention branch joints which were a complete PITA. Also the bending like query joints. Now with Speedfit anyone can be a plumber or so they think.

I think you just plain overworked yourself. There is nothing wrong with your work and you only did the things we all do ( or did in my case..I'm retired). Taking a break and coming back refreshed is so important. Work to your own pace and not the customers, otherwise you just get stressed out, and as you get older it just gets harder to cope with work stress. I know ! Nicely done anyway 👍

You strive to provide very high-quality jobs and succeed in it - we can see it. Shitty content creator don't get subscribed - you do. PArt of the problem with your work schedule could be a simple burnout. Self-employed, trying to establish yourself - you probably work way longer hours than a modest 44h a week and on top of that - you upload all the youtube clips. It takes a toll on your wellbeing. Do not overpressurise yourself. If on some jobs you just want to do "good enough" and without camera recording - just do it. We can wait for another clip. Mental rhythm, regular breaks, holidays. Tell us about your next planned holiday, please. BTW, you did not walk away from this one - you've just taken a normal break for eat/sleep/normal activities.
