Socrates was an attacking midfielder who captained the Brazil side in the 1982 World Cup which is sometimes known as the best side ever to win the World Cup. He was much more than a footballer though. He had a medical degree, was known for his left-wing political views and fight for social justice, and with his distinctive headband and beard, became the symbol of “cool” for a whole generation of football supporters.

Hi- I like the fact that you’re making younger generations aware of a great player by producing a Socrates video. I do kind of have a problem with you regurgitating his Wikipedia bio word for word and passing the description of his playing style off as your own. Did you rewatch any match video or read articles or book excerpts about him? Do you have thoughts of your own on his game, personal life, professional medical career, or political activism? Come on man….
