There is no better defensive midfielder to grace the field than Yaya. What made him amazing is he could score as a defensive midfielder. That and the fact that he had a 90% accuracy rate in the most difficult league in the world (as opposed to someone like Busquet) puts him at a different level. His grace with the ball at his feet, his ability to score from any position, his set piece ability, and pure physicality and length on the defensive side. He is one of a kind.

Yaya toure was literally the main reason why I started loving football people in school would call me yaya because of this and then once I really found how good he was its crazy. I really miss him as a footballer he literally had no weaknesses. Unfortunately tho I can admit if he join city at a younger age possibly getting more game time I feel he would have been in the debate for one of the greatest midfielders. For me he is top 10 atleast and his prime best season is possibly the greatest for a midfielder in the prem

I think yaya doesn’t get recognition because of race and I know it may seem crazy for me to say it but literally this man was one of the best if not the best midfielders of all time but doesn’t get takes about as much while others do .
