How I beat The 10K Distance: Worthing 10K 2024

Күн бұрынI ran Worthing 10K with the simple goal of running it better than last year. in 2023, I had a goal of achieving my first ever sub-50 10K and came up short with a chip time of 50:01 and Strava much more generous.
This run to me is validation. It indicates that I am improving as a runner because I paced this run well and remained consistent throughout the 10K distance. Don't get me wrong it was a tough run and needed the support I received on the course.
It was also great to run into @ThatRunningGuy after the run.

Legend! You’re an absolutely legend. The amazing thing is that you went off on your run not knowing what you had done. At that moment I was getting ready to slow down for the run.

Don't you just love it when the Lord sends angels to remind you in your running journey. Even at that 9k mark, you can hear the ease of your breath in your running. You're a better runner today, given your injury. Congrats on your CR . Running alongside the beach is always a bonus.

So, picture this. I settle down to watch one of my favourite runner’s new video. I’m a little bit demoralised because of yet another injury stopping me from doing what I love. I almost didn’t watch the video, that’s how far I’d removed myself from the running community. However, I’m SO glad I did! Aubrey, Sir, you are an absolute gem of a man. Your content was amazing as always (how does your editing keep getting better? 🤯) I was so touched to see my comment feature in this video, I’m one of the people you’ve inspired. I was heading off in a different direction today, potentially going to sack off my channel. YOU changed that today with this video. I can’t tell you how much it meant to me. Great job Aubrey 👏 🦁 Looks like a really nice event. I was part of the pacing team for the 2020 race which sadly never happened. Comparing the clips from last year, you are definitely improving as a runner and a KZfaqr 👍😊

Hey Aubrey.. following you since about the 400 followers mark. Started running about 9 month ago and happy with my progress.. just took 10+ minutes of my first half marathon in my 2nd one 2 weeks ago finished with a 1:50:50! motivation for sub 1:50 :D Just want to say keep doing what you're doing and listen to yourself! If you're ever in Amsterdam I would love to 'run' you around and show the city running :) keep it up!

Congrats @aubrey amazing progress. Inspired with this! We just done last weekend 10km race and I got 1:35 that is 7 minutes down from last race 1:29 on April this year. Will work on more to reach sub 1 for 10km. Again congrats LION! 🦁👊

You know that social media gives platform to people with all sorts of mental diseases, traumas, gaps, cowardice, 😅fears etc. Thus, it’s full of haters who can hate behind the veil of anonymity provided by the platforms. Good work, great video. Spotted myself 3:20 in on right hand side blue vest bright orange shorts. It was warm but cooler than 2023. I managed to take almost 90 seconds off last year 💪
