This is an excellent video. My favorite quote around 25:30, “Why not put together a process that doesn’t require discipline”. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing man!

Thanks for sharing! Another tip for those that don't have access to the fancy grocery store. Try to do your grocery order online and do drive up pick up or deliver it. That way you don't have to walk by all the stuff and be in store looking at everything that tempts you.

Thanks for this video. I’m at maintenance for Mounjaro on 5 mg, 3 wks later 2.5, 2 weeks later 5 and so on-which unfortunately takes self-discipline. It saves a lot of money and has worked for 3 months. I do expect to continue to need the drug indefinitely, however, if not for the rest of my life.

Thank you for your transparency. I've been taking it for over a year. It changed my life for the better. It was a slow process but I lost 63 lbs. I'm the healthiest I've been in my entire life. This drug has completely upended all of my beliefs about health, healthy eating, and weight management. I'm convinced these drugs work because it fixes the disease of insulin resistance. I believe insulin resistance is not a precursor to diabetes but a separate disease related to diabetes. People with insulin resistance cannot convert their intake into usable energy, therefore the body stores all intake as fat. Also because our body can't convert food into usable energy, our body is starving which results in extreme cravings.

Thank you for this video, it was very grounding and I feel renewed determination to keep focused on my food choices! I am trying hard to find time to go to the gym. I'm a busy RN and my day begins at 5am, when my shift is over I've walked 11k-16k steps for sure with two breaks 15 mins at 9 and 30 mins at noon. So when I leave I just want to sit down and peace out LOL. I really think I should be doing some weight lifting I just find everything so exhausting. Ive been taking mounjaro for a couple months. November was 2.5ml then Dec and Jan have been 5ml. I've lost 22lbs which is great but I kinda feel like I'm not losing as much as other people or as fast. I like how you were very specific about changing habits. I've been trying hard to incorporate some fasting days and keep my hydration up. I did notice that I've stalled for two weeks and I think it has to do with not drinking enough water, not enough protein and enjoying a few too many caramels! It's so odd, for a year I avoided sugar and bread no problem but now that I've been on mounjaro I do crave some sweets! I also noticed I am avoiding red meats which I always loved in the past and now feel super focused on CHICKEN. lol I have chicken or eggs all the time and never get bored of it. It's just these stupid werthers I gotta have more control to say NO I don't need this no matter how stressful my job is! lol anyway How did you break through stalls? Thanks for reading!
@RyanBrosnahan5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words and sharing your situation. 22 lbs in just under 3 months is 7lbs per month--that's incredible! It sounds like having an active job in medicine is also helping you burn calories and understand the science of what you're doing to your body. We regularly buy sweets, too. It's a metered process, so if we have zero self-control and eat all of it the first day, it would be like 350cals. WF has these Mayana chocolates that are really decadent for under 200cals, so if we want to go wild, we can share 1-2 and have something like a bowl of berries to scratch the itch. I do feel you about work, though. It's funny how clinical settings have so much unhealthy food around. If that sounds like the problem, maybe talk to your coworkers about getting rid of the candy dish (or whatever the temptation is)? I can't say it's great advice, but I did notice if I maintained a flawless diet for 10+ days, throwing in one really greasy dinner was often followed by reaching new lows the following week. If you search for "calorie shifting" on PubMed, there appears to be merit to my experience. You're obviously crushing it and taking a thoughtful approach. Please check in again in the future. I'll be cheering you on!

Hi, you are the first person who has mentioned testosterone . I would like to check my levels because although I have lost 30 pounds on mounjaro, I don’t think it’s mostly fat that I’ve lost. I think I am losing lots of muscle. I’m a woman, but I wonder if adding a bit of testosterone will help me retain/build muscle while losing. Thank you for your video! You look great and don’t have the “sickly” look that some tend to get after losing a lot of weight.

Curious, you did not find any complications with taking Vyvanse and Tirz at the same time? I was taking ADHD medication for years and was told it would lose efficacy while on Semaglutide or Tirzepatide. Interested what your experience was regarding this.
@RyanBrosnahan4 ай бұрын
That's interesting and something I was not aware of. It's possible that the Vyvanse was less effective, but not enough for me to notice. PCP and a Psychiatrist I talked with didn't think it was a big deal. The fortunate thing is that Tirzepatide has a 5-day half-life, so if a patient did find the muting of Vyvanse was unacceptable, the result would only be a week of reduced effectiveness.
@stevelyon8313Ай бұрын
Good day. I am in the middle of research, on a similar path (tirzepatide + clean eating + 1 hour of exercise at the gym every day). I am confounded by how many calories to eat daily. It seems like chicken + green vegetables are closer to 1500 calories. Did caloric numbers matter in your conception? Were you reticent about choosing bulky vegetables {broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts) in terms of overfilling your stomach? Finally, do you see protein drinks or powders as a staple to get your protein numbers up?

How did you successfully transition off of the mounjaro? Im interested in taking it but it seems many have difficulty w hunger after stopping it and seem to be going back on it. Bc of the cost I could not take indefinitely. I’d like to learn more about the process and time involved to transition off after reaching goal. Thanks for sharing your story. And congrats on your success🎉

Thank you--and great question. I got up to 7.5 mg per week. I reduced to 5 mg every other week and have been doing that plan for the last ~14 weeks. This is effectively 33% of my peak dosage and has served as my training wheels before I discontinue completely, which happens to be next week when I will take my last injection. Even with this reduced dose, I lost an additional 10 lbs. My habits and preferences have changed so drastically in the last year. The result is, my old habits that lead to my weight gain are no longer habits. I eat closer to maintenance now which feels indulgent compared to operating at a high deficit for so long. Yes, I am more hungry now. But when I want to go wild, I'll stand in my kitchen and slam a jar of kimchi or beef jerky and enjoy it way more than a delivery pizza.

@RyanBrosnahan4 ай бұрын
I have a friend who had the same experience. That's really awful. Do you think it's possible the medication was mishandled and lost effectiveness as a result?
@kali184 ай бұрын
@@RyanBrosnahan honestly yes. The 2.5 dose actually gave me suppression which means I think the 5mg was somehow mishandled. I did report it to my doctor and I think they explained to the pharmacy what happened. I’m hoping the 7.5mg won’t have any issues which I will start on in a week. Crossing fingers.
