How I Made Psycho Masks for a Live Action Borderlands 2 VR Commercial

Most people that know me know that I love Borderlands and not long ago I was hired to create some "real world" psycho masks for Playstation's Borderlands 2 VR commercial. In this build video I show the steps I took to create the iconic psycho mask from borderlands. These masks are painstakingly hand sculpted, molded in silicone and resin cast. Each one is then hand painted using acrylics and threaded with actual leather cording.
It was a lot of work in a short amount of time but I filmed the process so you all could check it out!

I laughed so hard at the fake gun shot to the head. 224 holes and the lacing is crazy but I agree the extra details are always worth it.

This is why I love you builds, you put so much love into your work. Even though it would be faster to mass produce them they would never come out that fantastic looking. Plus they would more than likely look exactly alike and I love how each one you make looks a little different in places.

Quick Q: Why did you do the respirator separately from the first mold?

@@SKSProps Are we talking about the same thing?.. in your video you cut the hole out of the mask and replaced the hole with another ventilator which seemed like another step.. the only thing I could think of was that you would not be able to get the sharp lines needed for the ventilator with silicon so you 3d printed it separately?

shayne murray no the hole is cut out on purpose the respirator was hand sculpted and cast separate and glued into place so that your nose has an open breathing spot. I don’t really know how to 3d print pretty much everything I create is by hand
