How I made a jig to increase the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of the assembly process for my best selling, craft fair favorite American flag crosses. This thing works so much better than expected and will greatly reduce the time spent batching out these easy DIY scrap wood projects, which translates to a higher profit margin. Tom, I want to say how impressed I am with your new jig. You did an excellent job with the design and it's very well built. You even CNC'd the directions onto the board so it's hard to make a mistake. I also want to give a shout out on the acrylic stars jig you made. Both jig's make the job incredibly quicker to mass produce the crosses. If anyone out there is making a lot of crosses, I highly recommend Tom's jig, the construction is amazing and it's built to last.

What a great idea. I have made a few things over the last two years I have been retired. So far, I give things away and the recipients keep telling me I need to sell them. So, I am trying new things to find my niche, and this looks like a great idea.

Thanks! Yeah, I make a lot of these crosses, and it's just a pain to do it without this jig. I can assemble them in a fraction of the time and with far better alignment with it.

Wonderful idea. looks as if you've put a lot of thought into this... i would be interested in the jig.. Have you ever made any that's larger in size? Thanks for the video.

Thanks, Ron. Yes, I show the larger one at the beginning of the build video for these crosses, but this jig is only for the smaller "normal sized" ones. I suppose I could make a jig for the bigger ones, but I haven't because i only make one of those bigger ones for proobably every 50 of the smaller ones because they just don't sell anywhere near as well. And that jig would be HUGE and not cheap to ship. I'm working through some issues with my CNC at the moment, but if you do want one of these jigs, email me at maverickdesignswoodworking@gmail.com and I'll respond with all the details (my website isn't up and running yet).

Hi Steve. I do the whole thing with a 1/4" spiral downcut bit except the engraving (which isn't shown here, only on the ones I sell to others, and that part is done with a 60 degree V bit. )
