Great video, I have to come back to this video to reference parts to make mine. Batching out 12 right at the moment and I'm in the glue up process. What a pain but I know it will be worth it.

Thanks, John! Yeah I use it for aligning bigger glue ups too now. In fact, I'm working on a custom flag right now that's the biggest I've ever done, and I'm using biscuits to line those up.

I'm kind of a stickler when it comes to the proportions being correct. Since I use 1" laser cut stars, I need the three stripes to be 1.5 inches. At 5.5", your stars would need to be 1.5".

keyhole bit might be a simpler process for you. i use them they work great

I do use just a keyhole on things like the crosses and flags , but I was concerned these wouldn't hold up over time due to the constant prying off of caps and felt more secure with the metal ones. You're probably right though, they'd likely be fine with just keyholes. I tend to overdo things sometimes. I have a touch of OCD.

Great job as usual. How fae down did you go for the hanger and how far up for the magnets. Tried to order some of the products and I got not available . Keep up your great tutorials

I don't remember. I haven't made these in a while I'll have to look into it and get back to you. It's not really that critical. Off the top of my head, the hanger is probably 2-3 inches down from the top, and the magnet 4 or 5 inches or so below the bottle opener. I'll also check those links and change them if necessary.

Usually 35 to 45, depending on the circumstances. If it's just someone buying direct from me, usually 35. 40 if paid like 50 bucks to sell at a venue, and 45 if I paid like 100 or more.

@@maverickdesignswoodworking thank you very much for your answer. I am getting in to building things from wood. I present do laser engraving and cutting....but it is only 1/8" baltic birch. I have an 80watt laser and it is amazing. I am always looking at making items that I don't see that often at shows and I don't see these bottle openers at shows. What glue did you use to install the Neodymium Disc Magnets?

I used CA glue (Starbond), but hot glue or epoxy would work just as well.

Question. Couldn't you just use palette material and cycle it as a 1 by 6 which they are?

Sure, you could use any wood you want, I suppose. These are not 6 inches wide though, they are 4.5 (3 x 1.5" stripes). If you made them 6 inches, you'd have to adjust sizes or add a stripe, of course. I typically make these from scraps leftover from flags, which is why they are made the way they are. When I do make them out of solid wood (and I do, when I don't have scraps but need some), I usually make them the same size and use the CNC to cut the stars and the lines between the stripes and union.

But YOU HAVE TO EARN IT first. When you start your videos "BEGGING" (basically) for us to press like and subscribe and you haven't even started to build anything yet....Well....That's just not good business Sir. How bout you PAY me for your Steak Dinner BEFORE I bring it to you cooked to your liking. Would YOU go to a restaurant and pay first? 🤔 No, you wouldn't. You order your food at no cost. If the service was good and you enjoyed your dinner, THEN you pay and perhaps give a good tip. 👍 I entered the restaurant/clicked on your video, cause I wanted Steak/watch a video on making this item. The service was good, I'll give ya a thumbs-up. The food/build video was quality, I'll come back/repeat business. My "check" comes AFTER the meal. NOT before. In what you're doing, You are asking for repeat business AND a Tip before I've even ordered my food. Does that sound Right to you? Sooo. Don't ask for my money BEFORE you give me my food. Wow. You really invested a lot of time and effort to post this message, which, ironically, gives the channel a bump in the algorithm. Woodworking is my passion, but it's also a business for me. While I'm happy to share what I've learned with anyone who wants to know it, I don't spend money (yup, it's not free to produce videos), or more importantly time (a video like this can take 20+ hours to edit, on top of all the time it takes to prep, film, make voiceovers, etc) to produce them out of an altruistic desire to just provide free advice (you do realize a like or sub costs you absolutely nothing right?). I think I was trying to get over the monetization hump around the time I made this one and was still learning the ropes of all this. I know and communicate with many other KZfaq creators, and while we all like and hope to help others, it's also a business revenue stream for nearly all. It's honestly ridiculous to be so critical, borderline hateful even, over the fact that we take a few seconds to remind you to like or subscribe, especially considering the amount of resources we commit to making these videos. But, that's my opinion, and you're welcome to yours. God bless you, and thanks for watching.
