Thank you again for watching.
I hope you find this useful. It is how I have been making my Vellum. I explain how the idea progressed as I have not seen anyone do this before, it is not to say no one has.
ARTYmaze has a tutorial making washi tape using vellum - check it out:

Hello from Kentucky. Love everything! I have some beautiful hand stitched pillowcases and doilies too. Some are my mothers. I collected some delicate wild flowers day before yesterday that are the most beautiful lavender blue color. I tried to dry and press them, they sadly did not keep their color. If I can find those again I will try this remarkably clever idea. I love nature (I have deer wander through my yard all the time; along with some critters that are not so cute). My mother taught me the love of flowers. I will use this idea often. Thank you for sharing your tremendous talent.

Love this scanner idea. I forget I can do that but I do love doing mixed media prints scanned to velum as accent pages. You are right - if using ink jet - they come out very wet unless you set it for draft quality which uses less ink and of course gives a less vibrant print but still effective. Thanks for sharing.

BRILLIANT! I love the scanned images! If you want to protect the glass on the scanner, you could put down a sheet of transparency (not sure what they call it in the U.K.?) It's a clear plastic sheet that is used on overhead projectors. I would think that a regular, sheet protector would work; the kind that are top-loading that are used in 3-ring notebooks. Those come in clear and frosted, so that might be fun to play with, too! :-)

this is amazing, thanks so much for sharing! if you don’t mind me asking, what type of tracing paper are you using for this? also, i don’t know if this is something you would know the answer to; but if i were to print, say, a quote on tracing paper like this, and wanted it to be on the ‘back’ of the paper (the side that would get some adhesive put on it) it would come out ‘backwards.’ do you know if there’s a way to print it on the back side, but still have it read the proper way when you turn it over? like mirrored or inverted or something like that, is it possible? sorry if i didn’t explain that very well, and again thanks for the very informative video. (:

Hey there, welcome :-D I have an Epson Eco Printer but the issue with any printer may be the ink you use (original is always best) and the paper you are using. It also depends on the image quality. I tried the baby oil, and it's an interesting result. However, I had concern about oil bleeding onto other papers, and I saw another person with the same concern. So, since you are into making videos and experimentation, I'll share my idea with you. I suggest using wax. I've used bees wax on paper and it produces a similar effect. I didn't have any bees wax so I tried paraffin wax, which is inexpensive. Bees wax is on the pricey side. I would experiment with different forms of wax, though I might not try soy wax because apparently it's water soluble. Paraffin wax may produce a paper that is a bit on the brittle side. Bees wax, though I don't have any on hand right now, seems to produce a more pliable paper. I scrubbed a block of paraffin onto both sides of my paper, heated it up with my heat gun a bit. Then gave it a final iron between waste paper to rid it of excess wax. So, give it a try and tell me what you think.

Hello, I have a crazy question, ur opening title says, " how I make my vellum paper". However, ur showing us how you "print" on vellum paper from ur printer. But I was researching on how to "make" vellum paper, using different types of paper, and the oil or oils used, I'm learning that from some videos, the oils used, are "rubbing off" wen inserted to our Journals, im thinking 🤔 this could potentially cause a problem down the line, wen we sell journals. I just wanted to clarify the words "making vellum" vs "printing on vellum" Thank you, have a blessed 🙏 labor holiday

I love the scanned embroidery on to tracing paper. Really pretty. I scanned some flowers and leaves with a sheet of OHP film protecting the glass. It gave a slightly misty effect to the scanned images, and the colour was a little faded out, but it still looked ok. On a totally different subject... I've watched a lot of your vids and I can't read the tattoo on your right arm! It's not keeping me awake yet but I'd love to know what it says.
