People have different reasons for why cleaning and tidying the room has a positive effect. For me it’s that life is messy, and having a clean room is a way of reminding yourself how something unexpectedly orderly and beautiful can exist in all that mess. It boosts your mood and inspires you. The way the world is isn’t tidy or even fair, but having a clean room or a peace of art around is like an invitation to see how things can be. It’s a mood booster and I think people underestimate how powerful mood boosters are

Thank you so much. Recently on a community post I requested the topic of how to heal from bosses abusing you in the workplace. I think this video will offer me a lot of tangible ideas and I’m excited to get into it

Noted! This is more on the emotion regulation front than the interpersonal navigation front, but I still hope it helped

Last week was a doozy for me and between two heavy events, plus work, I’m so exhausted. Tomorrow I’m taking a much needed half day to decompress.

The other day all I wanted to do was find a corner and hide from the world. I sobbed for hours. My Dad and I had a pretty big fall out after a discussion went sideways. We talked about some very personal issues that me and him havent seen eye to eye on most of my life. He was the one that brought it up as he often does. I thought maybe if i tried to be more vulnerable and honest about how i feel that hed finally understand this time and we could resolve everything. But all that did was make things worse. It ended badly. I finally came to the realization that things will probably never change and im just going to have to learn to adjust. Also im going to need to set better boundaries with him which includes maybe letting him know id rather not discuss those subjects anymore. This information helps so much! Ill definitely be ordering the journal to help process everything.

Someone at work who I grew very comfortable around because i felt we had a lot in common in our personality, which is rare for me, jumped down my throat a couple days ago and called me rude and a liar and it really threw me so off guard. I was emotional the whole rest of the day holding back tears because it triggered me. Had to power through the day till i got home. These tips are really helpful. Thank you 💓

This coincidentally came right when I started having my first big interpersonal conflict with my best friend. These are good reminders and tips, thanks Ana!

thanks for the time stamps and the digestable size. these videos are very important for many I'd guess (besides my self confirmation bias) and lowering the commitment barrier like this is very helpful. educative videos off main topic over 8-9 minutes tend to dust in my watch later

I agree with coming out of therapy with more clarity, and the emphasis on journaling to let out my feelings as well as reflect on what happened and moving forward.

I think the conflicts of the Law are not the same as the conflicts of the Times. Each type should have its own path of resolution, its own bucket of snowy mountains and green hills.

Could we get a topic about self esteem? I never got much when I was young; extrinsically. It’s very challenging to give it to myself intrinsically. I find myself doing things for some attention like: getting up from my cubicle to walk around (needing that attention), sometimes downloading dating apps for some attention, being funny to draw that dopamine from others. It feels a little narcissistic but I don’t know what is healthy and how to approach this. If I don’t get it, I feel very negative about myself. Are you able to do a topic on this? This is something I’m touching on with my therapist but this is def a challenge in my life right now.

Can you do a video on how to move in if you get no closure from a relationship ending. I had a 6 year relationship end and it was basically “I should have everything but I’m just not happy. Bye.” If I was doing something wrong I could at least know what to blame it on. Not having a diagnosis is the worst part

How do u convince people to try therapy? I know some people who have some distrust in therapists or think that it wouldn’t work for them even though they never tried. They’re kinda emotionally walled off and overplay the stoicism which I feel harms them in the long run

Not a therapist but these are my two cents. People are going to do things that work for them or that they get value out of. Maybe try to find out why they’re resistant to therapy and address those things, show them that it is compatible with their priorities, or find alternative options for better emotional health (especially if they’re not ready for therapy but might be ready for smaller steps!) If they are the kind of person who undervalues emotional health and processing, they won’t see the importance of therapy in the first place, so you may have to give more practical or individualized reasons for valuing emotional health. Maybe show how it has helped you or others, without making them feel judged. To a certain degree though, you can’t make people try therapy until they’re ready I think you can help steer them towards it, plant the idea in their mind, be supportive, etc. but you can’t make the choice for them. There are other things they can try more independently if they’re not ready for therapy, which can still help.
