Today I am further explaining how to score on breakaways and one-v-ones in NHL 21. In my 'How To Score Goals in NHL 21' video, breakaways were a key strategy. I had many questions on my technique, so now I am breaking it down into a step by step tutorial just for you. Obviously if you have any other questions, let me know in the comment section. There are MANY other ways to score on a breakaway, but this is my go-to, and this is what I was asked about most.

You know if you want to do the training with your Chel loadout: Load up any of the training options (I use advanced deke’s > between the legs deke) once you load on the ice with the defender, quit. Go straight to Chel > customize loadouts > press Y to free skate while the load out is highlighted. Boom loads you into free skate with a defender and yes it works with any of the training camp options just make sure you load which one you want and when you quit go straight to free skate with your Chel loadout. I might be an idiot, but this doesn't work for me at all. My skater takes forever to get from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock and the keeper just follows me all the way.

Thanks for this video. Just curious though, but why do you record the play from the moon and then zoom in after the play is over? It makes it nearly impossible to see what you're doing.

I must have missed something in EASHL school. How were you aiming wherever you wanted with the left stick without skating in that direction?

I was gliding at the same time, so I wasn’t messing with my skating direction TOO much

But when I was sitting still like that, I just had my right analog stick set at 9:00 because when I do that, the players don’t move at all

Hey, noob to hockey games, been playing for years but just casually...anyway. Left vs right handed in nhl, I see most videos almost always are a left handed shooter. Thoughts?

Yeah so typically there are more left handed players compared to right handed players. I do have more lefties in my lineup just because it’s easier to score on the right side of the ice (goalies glove hand).

Yes, even though I’m gliding, I’m still directing my player towards the net, and I can also use the left stick to aim my shot

Settings > on Ice trainer > shot aim targeting. Switch to on.
