What are you primarily watching when you have the puck? Are you focused on the puck carrier? Are you looking up to see who to pass to? Are you watching the defender? I feel like I never know what to focus on when I have the puck and it leads to me turning it over all the time whether getting checked or making a blind pass

Thanks for the tips! I'm actually trying a BAP sniper with a right handed shot which oddly enough has been hard for me since I mostly have used left handed shots in BAP since I shoot that way IRL. The wrap around and the slot shots may help me get used to a player being right handed and help me get the puck in the net a bit more! Also an aside, I like how those strategies are consistent, but it is still possible to stop if you are playing against an opponent. The cross-creases aren't as cheese as last year and they are about as effective as they should be, meaning pretty good, but you need that clear lane and to be in a decent spot for the shot. The game has glitches which have been a sore spot for most people, but the gameplay itself is honestly one of the better we have seen in years.

When you're aiming shots with the left stick are you maxing that out to the edge? It seems like I'm missing wide frequently even with quality players, but if I try to pull it in at all I'm shooting it right down the pipe.

I just got NHL 22 for PS5. I use the Hybrid NHL controls. (I'm old, mea culpa) Will these instructions work with that controller layout? Also, are there any drills (like FIFA has) to learn the controls and the movements? I only found a free skae with one player. But I think it would be better if there was more detailed intruction. There are an incredible amount of Options compared to Sega 95.

For me the wrap around and tucks. But to my defence I'm usually very power forward heavy. When my guys are all 6.4 and taller ya they are getting in your paint. And don't fight it because Reaves, Lucic and Simmons are just waiting to do what they are paid for! 😆 so ya either pass on the rush threw slot or I'm crashing that net!

I wonder if they have nerfed some of this stuff since this video (I just bought this game 1-2 months ago) but in my 200 hours of gameplay I don't think I've scored once with a redirect/deflection. The puck always just ends up hitting my players regardless of if it's me or the AI controlling the forward standing in front of the goaltender. My players never even seem to attempt to do a deflection animation.

ive been playing this game forever and i consider myself good but recently ive been in a major scoring drought having to win/lose 1-0 or 2-1 games

I still can’t figure out how to shot. Do you pull the stick all the way back then push it forward really fast or slow. Or do you just push it straight up. Someone let me know please

Like it. Its not so easy to get into breakaway this year and almost impossible against better players. They chase me down no matter what. I struggle with cross crease passes when in ofensive zone. my players are staying on the spot and arent trying to open for OT :/

What is the best way to one time ? Do you just hold up on the stick or do you flick it furiously? Or just try to time it and flick up once ?

I'm having major problems scoring goals. I only play "Online Versus." In the past, I was a .500 player. I've never been great, but atleast I could score. This year, I'm lucky to win one out of five games. My main scoring option was the rush one-timers, but it's not open at all anymore. Now, I realize how one-dimensional I've been. I've tried your video here, but it still has not worked. I've tried changing the offensive strategies, but I feel like there's been no difference. I think I may be rushing into the offensive zone and forcing shots, but I don't know. I'm usually on par with the opponent in time of possession and faceoffs. My passing % is above-average, but my shots on goal are very low. Idk what to do at this point. I'm scoring about 1-2 goals per game.

Whenever I try the wrap there’s always a defender there to take the puck away from me. What am I doing wrong? I never seem to be able to get space to set anything up or even have time to do a snipe from the point off a face off. The defenders are constantly on me like white on rice.

Significantly better than 21 in my opinion, simply because shootouts are more difficult and you can poke check without getting a tripping penalty every time.

This camera view makes the game look like it's from PS2. You need to play on true broadcast. The players look bigger. Like real players looks like a real game on tv. This overhead view makes them look small and cheesy. I know some views are obstructed but it's so much more enjoyable playing a game that actually looks like a real hockey game.

I just found out I can score 80% of the time in practice mode but as soon as I get a breakaway or a penalty shot online THE PUCK NEVER FUCKING GOES IN. I had 10 chance in 3’s and ZERO goals but as soon as I go into practice the puck goes in. I can’t even score one-timers point blank into an open net. IM FUCKING PISSED
